  1. I'm loving clothes and make-up too - I'm in UK, but got a good serum for about $18. I think its fine to pay out what you can afford, but like you I don't know if its worth it or not. Who really does though??

    Food, Fun & Celebration

Just want to say well done, and its great that you are able to stand and cook all that, and especially not be tempted to 'taste try' Great news!

    Type 2 Diabetes?

with regard to metformin, you should ask for the slow release metformin - normal metformin gave me nasty side effects too - but slow release is way better...

    Bowels!

I feel your anguish... been there many times. I was sleeved in Oct 12, and now (possibly due to having to take co-codomol for other issues) find myself taking dulcolax and dulcoease at least once every week... I know its probably not the best answer, but its what works for me - I've also tried taking just a little bit prune juice... perhaps watered down at this stage in case it is too strong for your sleeve.. Good luck. I think we have all been there at some point

    Continued loss after one year?

I'm 18 months out, and have lost at least 20lbs in the past 6 months. Its a lot slower that it was, but I need to think that it will still be coming off, not ready to throw the towel in yet...
  12. I'm in the UK, and had my op done under the NHS - National Health Scheme. I was given the compression socks to put on immediately afterwards (ok, they were put on for me!) and I was told to wear them at all times once I was home too, which I did. This thread has struck a cord with me, as My mum had a PE after an op, and later died with it.. Take care all, and do all you can to avoid this.

    Struggling 1 month out

I think you are expecting too much of yourself - and in my mind, you won't be recovered yet - you are still healing inside.. be good to yourself - theres plenty of time to be good to those around you later, after you have had your well deserved turn! It will benefit them in the long run. I'd sit down with your husband first, then your sons too and tell them how you are feeling.
  15. I just want to say, well done

    Water makes me nautious

I'm the same - 30 mins either side -that's what I've been following for the past 18 months anyway

    Water makes me nautious

I can only drink plain Water if its really cold too - I've been having crystal light etc in my water daily since coming out of the hospital. I know its not ideal, but I figure that its better than struggling to take in the Fluid... I was dehydrated yesterday and the day before as I had been ill - boy that was nasty! get fluid in any way you can is my advice.
  18. That's the way I felt too - and still do a lot of the time and i'm almost 19 months out! I used to go from one meal to the other, wondering what I would have... now I go from one meal to the other wondering what I CAN have...

    What to eat?

can you tolerate eggs? I'm thinking boiled eggs, although I usually have to have some mayo with it or its too dry..
