  1. Nov 12th surgery. Down 79 and half pounds! Still working on it!!! 16 and 1/2 pounds to go to be normal BMI where the surgeon would like me.
  2. Thanks for posting this. Need this reminder!!
  3. I always wanted to wear what was different than everyone. Now our daughters who are 39 and 41 have me try on their things. Pretty funny. One took me to Victoria Secret to get a new style bra as they never had ones I could wear!!
  4. I'm not sure what that is. I had a hiatal hernia repaired .
  5. My treadmill will be used again, when I don't have other ways to exercise!! Prefer water aerobics, or golf!! LOL!
  6. Doctor wants me to wait 18 months and by then i'll be 67 so will see what the apron looks like! Have that because of previous surgeries.
  7. Highest weight, 225.5 7 months out, 148.6.....5 foot 2inches. Did second 5 K on Sat. in Lansing. Walk most of it because of my knee replacement. Feeling great!
  8. Great feeling isn't it?!!! I'm 8 months out and today my adult son asked if I was feeling better and off my blood pressure meds. He said I always looked like I was out of breath...Which I probably was. 75 pounds gone....20 more to go!!!
  9. I'm 5 foot 2 inches and 66 years old. Highest weight 225.5, surgery Nov. 12, 2012, and current weight is 149.4-150.8. Depends on the hour I think!! I wore 2x or 22/24 and today I was wearing a size 14 skort, and medium top. Need to take my measurements again, as it's been awhile. Goal weight is 130. I already wear less than I weighed after having my 2 girls who are now 41 and 39 so am pleased with that. I have to try on everything, because it depends on the brand. Not buying any more jeans until fall...Will wear my capris, shorts and some 16P hand me down slacks that I had shortening. Would love to find out where people buy their jeans.
  10. I'm only 8 months out, but think that you should see the nut and get back on track. They had me add more protein to my diet at 3 months and that helped. Find an exercise that you can fit into your day and take it one day at a time. I'd be glad to keep in touch.
  11. It's encouraging to hear from someone who is further out. I'm only 8 months out and find that the more I eat normal food, the harder it is to lose...even though I'm not eating junk. Keep up the good work.
  12. We had to put names on our stuff and it all wouldn't fit in the freezer when I was teaching.
  13. We did a second 5K this morning, a Color Run where they throw powdered paint on you at 4 stations during your walk, and then you can do it at the end. Anyway, I'm hurting now as I ran at the beginning and the end, but walked rest of it. Did it in a little more than an hour. Really pleased with the progress!! My surgery was in Nov. and I'm now 66. Yaa HOO!!!
  14. I was not hungry after surgery. Could be gas pains....keeping walking and sipping.
  15. I'm 8 months out and have problems with dense meats but not with fruits and vegetables. I only eat those after I have the Protein in, or afterwards. Fruit works well in smoothies now and protein with milk.
  16. Color 5k was so much fun!! 1 hour and 4 min with 4 color stations. Ran the beginning and end even though I was not suppose to due to knee replacement! Walked over 5 miles from parking place to start, 5k and back to car from finish line.
  17. At Playmakers today, I had to look at sale running shoes. Said I can walk in running shoes but shouldn't run in walking shoes. Wanted some of the brightly colored ones, but I have orthodics and a lift so got a pair of Saucony...wit a few colors. Wearing them to make sure I can do the 5K in the morning. Will report in...not timed but will try and time myself.
  18. I take Colase 1-3 times a day. Usually just once though in the evening.
  19. Weight goes up a pound and down a pound. Did water aerobics 4 times last week, as well as golfed twice. This week water aerobics 2 times so far, golf once and doing a 5K on Sat.....fast walking. Getting dicouraged!!
  20. 5K Sat morning. Picking up packets tomorrow. Color Run (I'll be walking fast). Will see if my husband suggests any more 5K's in the future. He is not happy about the color. Ha !Ha!
  21. Love Destin!! Too cold in Jan and Feb but will be there at a resort in March. I can still only eat about 2 oz of protein at a meal like half of a burger (ground sirloin), less than half a chicken breast, etc. Crackers go down easily.
  22. My thighs are like jello, but I wear longer shorts and I even got brave enough to wear a size 14 skort when I was golfing. My friend told another friend that I look like I just got out of prison when I walk as I am so much freer. Having to wear a sports bra now when I'm walking but that is ok!! Love the encouragement on this forum.
  23. I'm golfing today and walking like heck when I'm off the cart. I swing so many times for 9 holes. Does that count as upper body work?? LOL!
  24. I don't know what I'm going to do about boobs deflated and tummy! I'm 66 and will be 67 before the surgeon recommends going ahead with plastic surgery. Do I really care at that point?? Will see what I look like then and decide.
