thank youBisquick makes a GF mix and it is sold in the local grocery stores and Walmart. It is in a smaller box. It is totally my go-to item. I use it everyplace I used to use flour. I take it with me when I travel. Zataran's has a fish fry mix that is gluten free. I use it to fry anything I would fry. Whole Foods and Trader Joes has a ton of GF items. Most restaurants have a Allergy menu and or the chef will cook a item to your needs. I also have apps on my phone that specify which restaurants have GF items and some have the complete menus. (Is that Gluten Free & ITGF Eating Out & GF Card). The whole food app has recipes, menus and grocery lists. I felt totally limited when I was first diagnosed but I feel totally good with it now. Blessings

so you make brown gravy by browning the cornstarchI make my gravy from scratch with cornstarch. My husband loves it! (he is not celiac).

Please do share the cooking sauces and gravy mixes you have found. Here in the south my husband like his gravy, even though I just eat the meat out of it.We rarely buy from a health food store and find heaps of stuff in supermarkets these days. Perhaps we're luckier in Sydney than most... don't know. Even so it is dearer for anything labelled GF.
If you can tolerate being GF by ingredient (rather than only having stuff labelled as GF) - and in my experience most coeliacs can - then reading the ingredients list will be well worth the effort. While there's wheat, oats or barley in an astonishing number of things (including many vanilla ice creams!), there are lots of products that don't include these things either. We've come across some great cook-in sauces and gravy mixes this way, at a fraction of the labelled GF product costs.
"May contain gluten" means a product hasn't been made in an environment that is kept stringently free of gluten and regularly tested as such. It doesn't mean the product has been in contact with gluten, only that it can't be proved not to have been. Like any food that enters the house of any coeliac sufferer who lives with non coeliacs who occasionally eat wheat, oats, rye or barley.
Of course some coeliacs can't tolerate even the teensiest bit of gluten, so you will have to see how you go.

I have Celiac also, going on 2 years now. I buy most of my gluten free foods from the health food store. It gets easier and easier. Some stuff is pricey, happy to tell you what I have found that is good and bad. Just holler! Please do share what is good and what isnt good thanks

I had vision change after surgery, but it was from blood sugar dropping so quickly. Blood sugar leveled out and so did vision. I did need new glasses, but that was something that was like way overdue anyway.

I have the same thoughts since surgeryI may be alone in this but I have been looking at the unhealthy foods people eat while shopping in the mall, or while out socially in a restaurant. I was in the mall and saw an overweight man sitting at a table eating a triple burger, large fries, and what looked like a vat of soda. It really angered me. I thought to myself- how could he do that to himself? Please sound off and let me know if I am being crazy and judgmental or if you have had the same thought.

I couldnt stomach greek yogurt after surgery until this last week. I am 6 1/2 months post op. I now like the Dannon Oikos fruit in the bottom

I do crunch's in Water aerobics, I also have started cycling. When I say moving down the upper part is getting smaller. It is like the belly is not as big in the upper half. I am I guess you can say apple shape. Waist doesnt seem to measure smaller, but I have lost pounds and dropped sizes in pants. My belly is still sagging and big to me. I weighed 246 when I started the weight loss journey. I am 161 now.I have never had a flat stomach though. I also have had several stomach surgeries, ( 4 c-section, hysterectomy, gall bladder ) all those caused stomach muscles to be cut

I was told at seminar that the surgeries do cure diabetes as long as you dont result to old eating habits

I have lost 85 pounds in 6 1/2 months. My upper part of stomach is moving down and lower part is moving, but waist is not measuring any smaller in last couple months. Is this due to stomach moving down ?
-
I had diabetes really bad. The day of surgery my sugar was 301. Today 6 1/2 months post op my sugar is 89-98 no meds.

I just read some of these post. I don't blame you one but rollargirl. A Bmi of 30 - 39.9 indicates moderate obesity. Do what is best for you and what is healthier for you and don't let nobody get you down.

I went to academy sporting good store and bought a huffy cruiser for 90.00 last week. I haven't rode in 34/35 years. I love it. Step daughter and I ride at least every other day. No gears or hand brakes, just a plain bike just cruiser style. They was actually cheaper than Walmart.< /p>
