  1. I was wondering what belly bands you used and where did you get them. I've heard a lot of people used Spanx what about a maternity band?

I know my pre op apt will fill me in on some of this but thats not until the 13th.

My med questions what did you take pre op and why?

What did you take post op and why? If you did something for the first week then something different please explain. Multi vit, Calcium, ? What is loratap?

I've heard: chewable multi vit, gas x tabs, chewable calcium with citrate, also in liquid form, maybe Iron, pain meds, stool softener, ? Pepcid (what is this for)

Anti depressant how did you take it? Crushed in liquid? When can you swallow a pill?

Thanks for the help! So grateful for this group!

I did not use a belly band.

    Pre-op med: Avapro for hypertension

Post-op: I was prescribed percocet for pain, didn't need it. Had to give myself lovenox injections, I took a chewable Multivitamin, b1, D, prilosec, calcium citrate (one month after surgery) Iron and I get a B12 shot every other month. Didn't need any gas meds or stool softeners.

  2. Thanks everyone!! Your replies really helped. Just to update, I have decided to accept and go to the concert with him (I can't walk away from Sir Elton), But we are taking things very slow. I told him my hormones are six kinds of crazy right now and I need the emotional support of a best friend more than I need a boyfriend. So basically we are going to continue things the way they have been for months...it's just now we are being open about our feelings for one another. He's not thrilled about my not wanting to be his girlfriend , but he said he supports me in whatever decisions I make. We have a coffee (tea for me) date tonight...should be fun :D

Good for you, have fun just don't let those crazy hormones make you do something you will regret. Wink wink. :)

  3. Isn't it funny how our surgeons slice is open, have to spread apart our innards and see all our guts and blobby yellow fat and we're so worried about making sure our little lady is trim?

Lol, and they sure aren't checking to see if you have a bush, a beach or a runway. Hilarious.

  4. My trainer is so encouraging, he sends us all motivating messages, here is the message he sent today:

"Struggling with being consistent with your workouts...Lost 2 lbs last week, and gained 3lbs back this week...Mental is a little shaken, not stirred..."It's Alright"...Even on our knees we have the ability to stand up once again on our feet and...Keep Moving Forward. If no one said that they care today...I do! Now Go Get Back in the GAME!"

    Love him!!!

  5. I'm in the hospital after being sleeved on Tuesday. They're having trouble managing my pain because the meds make me nauseous and all that retching and heaving makes me think my new stomach is going to rip apart. I finally got them to put me on a Tylenol drip and after having no pain meds the day after surgery, I finally have some relief. But they keep pushing the Loritab or whatever it's called because that's what I'm going home with. I don't care!! If it makes me throw up I'm not taking it. I'm hoping by Friday I won't need pain meds anymore. Do you think this is possible? When did you stop taking the pain meds?

I didn't need any pain medications at all and I don't think that is as a result of a high pain threshold....I'm a punk for pain. I think each one of our cases is different, I would suggest that you make it clear that the medication makes you sick and to please prescribe an alternative pain drug.

  6. Like 4Myboys mentioned above, if you don't get emotionally attached continue to date him if this is what you want, but let him know that you will be dating others as well. If you get easily attached, I don't think dating him would be wise. First and foremost, focus on yourself and everything else will fall into place.
