  1. I started losing my hair at month three and it is still going on month four and five but I actually don't mind because my hair is crazy thick. Here was a website that was passed on to me by a fellow member on here that really brings light to the whole Hair loss issue. I hope your hair loss ends real soon!! At least we can count on it growing back eventually. http://www.slhn.org/docs/pdf/bariatric_surgery_and_hair_loss.designed.pdf

    Thanks, this is very helpful.

  2. I think that was his sick way of pointing out "If that fat, disabled guy can do it... why can't you?" No I didn't say anything to him. I was too embarassed and too on the verge of tears.

. That's inappropriate! I do feel you need to address it, either in person or by email. If you continue to allow him or others ridicule you, it will never stop.

  3. I find it so amusing how far people go to look like they are eating more. It seems odd to me.

I'll tell you, I've been to several lunches with customers & as a customer. Also as a business meeting. Honestly I've never experienced anybody paying any attention to how much anyone else eats (well, maybe if someone were eating for 3 people).

I'd recommend ordering exactly what you'd like, and request your server box 1/2 of your meal before it is brought to the table.

I agree! I really can't get my head around why all the shenangan's some go through, hiding what you eat, the concocted stories about what surgery you had. Any time you have to put that much effort into something to benefit others it is in my opinion unnecessary stress. Oh, Snapper is a very tasty fish.

  4. Ok I talked to a friend of mine about this whole situation and she works indirectly with my staff. She just so happened to be talking to one of my coworkers today and mentioned casually are you doing anything for Jules because I want to contribute and she said yes, they just didn't know what to do yet but they were going to do a card and something. So I humbly apologize to my coworkers for calling them losers and idiots because now I feel like an a$$. But if they send me a food basket of stuff I am not able to have like chocolate and Cookies I will be back on to diss them again! Thanks guys again for all the awesome advice and the laughs and support!

. My goodness, see all of the ranting was for nothing! Now go back to your coworker who asked and offer her some suggestions on what they can get you so you will be happy.

  5. No, nothing but support from family and friends. Ignore what they say, don't give them the power to annoy you. As long as they aren't being disrespectful ignore them. I've learned that some people like to compare their situation to yours and sometimes like to one up you, I just ignore the foolishness.

  6. According to UHC's website, you qualify: (updated 12/1/2013)

pectoris, hypertension or coronary artery bypass)

  7. When starting with this process the best thing you can do is research and be informed, one call to your insurance company and you would have been armed with the insurance requirements before any doctors visits. If you don't meet the requirements what are they (Surgeon) suggesting that the attys will be able to

    do?

  8. To all who had surgery outside of the United States, did anyone opt for Medical Tourist Insurance?

Regular travel insurance doesn’t cover any trip where the purpose of the trip is to obtain medical treatment. This exclusion applies to every part of a travel insurance policy. For example, there’s no coverage for medical treatment, trip cancellation, travel delay, baggage, trip interruption, etc. if the purpose of your trip is to obtain medical treatment.

For those who are still pre-op and have scheduled surgery, I would at the very least check it out. There are several sites that offer insurance, just Google medical tourist insurance.

What jumped out at me is the coverage when you return to the US. I must say that I did not delve into it in depth, but thought it might be worth mentioning. As with anything, its up to you to READ THE FINE PRINT.

    Here is one site.

    Just thought I would share.
