A trip to the hospital
I was also sleeved on the 21st and am on soft foods. I usually have a protein shake in the morning to get in almost 50 g of protein and lunch usually consists of cottage cheese and applesauce. I have tried tuna with mayo and it sets okay along with different soups like vegetable beef and tomato. I also have mixed plain yogurt with s/f jellos or puddings to get in extra protein..just introduce different foods slowly. I haven't tried scrambled eggs yet b/c I have read where many people have trouble with them.

Any Regrets?
I am only two weeks post-op and the only thing I regret is not getting the sleeve sooner. I no longer use my CPAP nor take any pain meds I have been on for the last 8 months for my degenerative arthritis. The only negativity that I have dealt with is people saying "your taking the easy way!" By all means, this is not the easy way out. It is a tool to help you lose weight and give you the restriction you need so that you don't gain it back. I don't know about you but speaking for myself I have been successful at losing weight in the past but never have been able to keep it off for a length of time and now that I am sleeved I have the restriction that is needed. Good luck to you and remember this is a lifetime marathon...you will learn as you go !!

Pain when I swallow
I am only four days post op and noticed the cramping earlier in the week but now I use a spoon so I make sure that I take small sips. Popsicles didn't sit good with me until last night. Just take it slow ...I got in 45 g of protein by doing going slow and using the spoon. Good luck to you.

Gas pain!
I was sleeved on Monday and came home Tuesday. I have also suffered with the gas pains but I walk every hour and that seems to get it moving on out. I take really small sips too have found to big of sips gives me alittle pain..I am now only taking liquid pain meds every 5 hours for pain...does help some with the pain. Good luck to you just keep taking small sips & slow steps!! I have found every day seems to be alittle better!!

pre_op liquid diet. Im starving
My surgery is on Monday the 21st and I started liquid diet on Monday consisting of three protein shakes a day along with Greek yogurt, s/f jello, broth, & light low carb dinner consisting of 3-4 oz of lean meat with two cups of salad or non starchy veggies for dinner. According to nutritionist, this shrinks your liver but also the extra protein in your body will help with the healing.

Greek Yogurt made edible
Try mixing in some sugar free jellos or puddings...that's what I do to flavor my protein shakes.

No pre op diet required
I have one week liquid diet that starts on the 14th...2 protein shakes a day and a low carb dinner...all liquids the day before and also no bowel prep...Nutritionist said to make sure I drink 2 liters of water a day also protein shakes can count towards liquid intake....The liquid diet shrinks your liver but also the extra protein that you are consuming pre-op will help you heal after your surgery....Best of luck to you!!

January 22 is the Day!
Congratulations on your surgery date!! My surgery is January 21. In the past I have had cravings for sweets but following a low carb diet has helped me with fighting those sweet temptations. I keep some sugar free candies on hand for when I do get a sweet attack.
