    Wow, Stricture...

I had the same procedure done in April! I had my surgery done in Dec. I was told a lot of people go through this. My symptoms were nausea, throwing up , hard to shallow , felt like food was getting stuck. My side hurt. It didn't matter what I ate, I threw it up. Sometimes I didn't eat due to feeling so bad and was throwing up. That's the worst! After, he went in and strength my sleeve a little, all was well! Thank God!

It's reality, after surgery they pump your stomach with gas and you will be walking and passing gas. Yes it smell! So glad I am pass that stage. Keep some gas x or sonething! I enjoyed my time off adjusting to this new tummy and what my body can tolerate. Our taste buds do change. Good luck to all newbies! No turning back now this is the best thing you can do for yourself and health!

    9 month check-in

Hey Dec Sleevers! I have no regrets either! Yes, it's awesome being in one hundred land! I was so thrilled when I got there? You doing great will be there before you know it! I have reached my dr goal but not minds yet! Yes, the weight has slowed but I am okay with that because I am healthy and feeling great? It seems like on a daily base coworkers ask how much you Lost? I just smile and say, girl I don't even know. Just put my clothes on and if they don't fit, just buy more. That way, they will get the hint, stop asking me lol! Some are happy, some are haters! I care less I am happy and rocking my sleeve! Be blessed everyone! Oops speaking of vitamins, I have to remember to take it. Hate taking vitamins. Thinking if doing the gummy ones or flint stones. I saw that on the list, but I think gummy was not on there. Have anyone tried gummy vitamins.

    Down 111lbs & feeling great!

I went thru several stalls, increasing my water intake helps. It is hard to getting in in the beginning but in time you will be able to drink more. I am nine months out and have reached my doc goal and fifteen from reaching my goal! This journey is so exciting you can do it. Sometimes, I drink high protein ensure 25 grams of protein. I like vanilla flavor better.

2 years out and still obese. :(

Wow, after two years you only gained eight pounds after losing 100! That's amazing! I will be 49 in a few months and yes the back pain does not goes away. I was hoping it would because the doctors said if you lose weight it may go away. However, I have degenerate disk disease so I have to tolerate it. I hate taking pain meds but sometimes it gets so bad and I can't sleep like now, and I have to. I am nine months out and had joined a gym but only went a few times. I bought some weights to tone my arms. I believe, I can exercise better at home. I am going to get a bike to ride with my foster son. He is more excited then I am. I am also going to get a stationary bike to exercise when weather is too bad. Drink plenty of water and eat five to six small meals a day. My dr said more is less to get the metabolism moving. So good luck, and stay encouraged you can do this! You have done great!

7 months post op and on a 3 month stall!

Be encouraged! You will! I thought I was never going to see the scale move again . I am nine months out! Went from 22 to size 10! Once I reached size sixteen I was so excited and thought i would be in it for the whole summer. I bought Capri jeans size 12 and hadn't been on the scale but it Was on sale. I decided to try then on for fun and was shocked when I could wear then. Don't get on the scale for a few days and increase your water intake or protein and enjoy watching the pounds shed off. This journey is so exciting! Today, I bought size ten on sale tried it on once I was home, woo woo it fits! So don't worry, be happy!

Alternative options – other than surgery

Coco butter is good too. Everyone want have loose skin issues. It depends on how long you been over weight. My fear was loose skin too. I am nine months out and has reached my dr goals but 15 from my goal and so far my arm is the only place that is loose. I hate it, ai have started. Lifting five pounds weight to hopefully tone them. I saw a woman you tube of her before and after pics and she lifted weights and it made a difference. I still have a stretch marks on my arm but I wear half sleeves to cover it and most tee shirts cover it too. I was going to get the arm surgery but it leaves an ugly long scar on the back of the arm. Plus when I researched it said May have nerve damage, I don't want to go thru no more surgery. Good luck! Congrats on your journey of joining the losers bench soon!

    They FIT!

Woo Hoo! Congrats! I know the feeling. It's an awesome feeling!
  12. It will get better. Let your dr no about the heartburn or get something over counter. I went through the same thing. Remember to eat slowly and don't eat dry chicken and or dry foods. I thought it would never end and I also had nausea and throwing up. I finally went to the dr and I had to have another upper GI to stretch my sleeve because I couldn't eat nothing without throwing up or feeling like I was choking. Hope it gets better with you as you heal. I had my surgery Dec 2012 and feel great now. I have reached my Goal and Only 9 months out. In the beginning I regretted too, but as I healed and felt better, I would do it again. Shopping is so much fun when clothes are smaller and not plus sizes!

    Stomach grumbles

yes, it's normal. Your stomach is still healing and sometimes its head hungry and drinking water helps or having a healthy snack. My dr, said I should be eating something every two hrs when woke.

    Addiction

I had my surgery in dec and my outlet is a snickers bar. I never did drugs or alcohol so no that's not an issue with me. The therapist that we had before surgery said that some turn to alcohol and I may since I can't overheat in food. I laughed in her face. A coworker that had the sleeve all she talk about is drinking. She did four wks out and was bragging that she didn't get sick. I pray she don't get addicted. Are you honestly having issues with addiction to something? If so, we are here to talk if you need to.
  15. I had my surgery in Dec last year! My doctor said every two hrs I need to be eating something. He said the more I eat and get my fluids in the more I lose. Five to six small meals daily. I get hungry every few hrs too. I have reach the dr goal but 15 from my goal. Good luck, remember more is less. It works with the sleeve! Woo hoo!
  16. If you had the sleeve you want dump!
  17. I donated minds to the salvation army! Yes it was hard especially my dress clothes. It's fun going shopping because I find myself still on the plus size and laugh and go to the regular size. I don't buy a lot because in a few months I have to donate again.

    be honest

When I first had my surgery I went to the gym faithfully and walked. But once I started back to work I haven't been able to work out as much and my weight is coming off just find. A friend of minds had the same surgery and claims she work out everyday and yes she is losing but minds coming off faster. Everybody is different. She weighted more then me that might had a factor in it.
  22. For me, my first six weeks was my most weight lose. I had my surgery in Dec. I am eight months out and went from size 22 to size 12. Everybody is different and will lose at different rate.

    Too Small :(

It will level out! If you feel that you have lost too much you can increase your calories. However, its good to lose an extra twenty once you near goal because my surgeon told me that after five years its a fifty percent chance the weight can come back on. Noooo, I do not want to go back to the plus sizes. I am enjoying wearing size twelve. People keep saying don't lose no more, like I got control of how much to lose. However, I want to wear size ten. Good luck you will be fine, just keeping eating healthy and getting your exercise in. You can still have curves and be slim.
