  1. I started at 296 at 5'8.5 I am now 190 at 5'7! What the?!?!?!
  2. Wow!!!!! Look at you, rockin it before surgery! Amazing! I wish I would have done that. I gained 10 pounds before surgery, looking at it as a free pass since I was about to have wls. I don't recommend that at all! You are going to be a huge success, I just know it. Good luck to you and I can't wait to hear about your success too.
  3. I'm a year out and ate sushi not too long ago. I haven't heard anything about not being able to eat it forever. I wonder if anyone else has!

I owe my life to this surgery and am way too proud of my journey to lie about it. That said, I can definitely see how some would want it kept a secret. It's hard to live up to other's expectations of what this surgery entails and draining to answer the same questions over and over! I'm an established hairstylist and talk to A LOT of people on a daily basis. I'd like to discuss anything other than my weight loss at this point. Lol
  5. There sure is an uproar, huh? People want it fixed and they want it fixed NOW! I feel sorry for team having to deal with all of this. Usually with any new technology, there will be glitches. I'm an avid "current thread" reader, so I'm sure I will be constantly posting in the wrong forum, lol!
  6. Woohoo! I, for one, am excited to hear about the journeys of all wls patients! How exciting it is to incorporate the ideas and approaches of all the surgeries available. We may have had different surgeries, but the common goal to living a happier, healthy life is the same. P.S. there's absolutely no reason not to like the bean. He is the sweetest!
  7. This is my concern too.
  8. I guess what bothers me is that these kinds of posts are being perceived as enabling. Once the actual surgery is over what are our main concerns? Food and fitness. Life after the sleeve, right? Maybe I'm not on the site as much as others, but what I have not seen is people telling others to continue with destructive behavior. How is it enabling? I see it as getting it off your chest and moving on. Let's move on together. How do we move on? It's all a learning experience.
  9. It's life. Outside and inside the forum, we have to make choices. I see a lot of pointing the finger at anything and everything but one's self. Addiction, enabling, him, her, anything! Bottom line is most of us are adults with a functioning brain. I LOVE cheetos but I can't blame the store for selling them or Sally for talking about them when I have a cheeto binge. We have to take responsibility if anything is going to be achieved. I'm not saying this with any ill intent, I want everyone to be successful.
  10. It's all about how we perceive things. If you find this conversation dangerous, stay away. If helpful, contribute. We are not responsible for anyone but ourselves. I like knowing how others take on this journey and knowing I'm not alone in making mistakes, but someone confessing to eating chili fries isn't going to influence me to eat them too. I like this topic, thanks for being brave enough to start it.
  11. I'm a year out and still struggle. I've never been depressed before, always happy and positive. But now usually around that time of the month, I hate everything and don't want to do anything. With my extremely busy schedule its debilitating. I was thinking about seeing a doc about it but I'm on the fence about taking meds. Would love to hear other's input.
  12. Lol yea that's what I meant
  13. I think if a stranger flat out called me an a**hole for venting my struggles, apology or not, I would think they sucked as a person! Lol that was really bold.....right?
  14. Haha! My new obsession is taking pics of myself. I don't annoy others with my photos, they are for my own enjoyment. I was just thinking this morning about how I've spent my entire life hating how I look and all of a sudden, I finally see myself as beautiful. All these changes are blessings. Congratulations!
  15. Well, they are delicious!
  16. Wine or vodka with Crystal Light.
  17. My b12 was way high so I stopped taking them. I only take a multivitamin.
  18. I don't see too many threads praising those who cheat. I've seen confessions and advice on how to overcome these challenges. It's a reality of this journey. At some point we're going to give in to temptation. We are all human. "Newbies" (gaw, I hate that word) are new to the sleeve, not children. Most are adults and hopefully not completely unable to make their own decisions. I think people either take this way too serious or not serious enough. For me, life still goes on and I'm choosing to enjoy this process rather than make it stressful.
  19. I rarely eat out so when I do, I order whatever I want!
  20. Chicken breast and pork roast is really hard for me to digest too. It's painful! If I read correctly, you've lost 10 pounds in two months? That seems pretty normal for someone 8 months out.
  21. This months shark week I've been really bad!!!! I've lost 5 pounds this week though! A whole bag of peanut M&Ms in one sitting A whole Red Robin burger in 4 sittings....one day Wine I drink a sf Rockstar every day I drink from straws always from day 1
  22. Well maybe knickers wouldn't be wadded if you hadn't made this woman out to be a complete jack ass for buying yogurt with a half serving of M&Ms attached. I'm headed to the grocery store now. I hope no one judges me for placing a box of Teddy Grahams in my cart full of meat and produce lol.
  23. I know lots of people who aren't lazy and buy treats, knowing they are not particularly healthy. I'm one of them. I'd like to think I'm somewhat intelligent. But I do agree that a lot of junk food is disguised as "healthy."
