I didn't know it was contagious!!! I just finished the antibiotics for it. I hope I didn't give it to my babies!

I have to admit I did this one time while on liquids. Afterwards I thought what the hell??? That's disgusting! Not good!

tired of being lectured on here

I think it's just hard for most of us to understand someone being obese without overeating and how the sleeve would help. I'm 7 months out and eat 1200-1400 calories a day. I eat when I'm hungry only and work out most days. If I gained weight at 1200-1400 calories a day, I'd be screwed! It's easy to live off of 500-1000 calories in the first few months but a lot harder the further you're out. For me anyway. I do understand what you're saying though. I've read some people completely blame anything other than overeating and claim to eat 800-1000 calories a day before the sleeve. How will the sleeve help them? I think the "lecturing" is to 1) help understand 2) make sure they aren't waisting money and time on this procedure that will absolutely not change their eating habits if their honestly eating 800-1000 calories anyway and 3) make sure they are 100% being honest with themselves. I'm not saying this is you but some people truly don't understand this procedure. I even read that someone thought it would work because the sleeve doesn't process the calories like a normal stomach. You still absord all nutrients your stomach is just smaller. I agree that we shouldn't be judgmental but some people do need to be educated and quit lying to themselves! I'm sorry you felt attacked and I really do hope this works for you! P.S. Most of my reply wasn't directed towards you. If you gain or maintain at 1400+ calories a day, I would think the sleeve will help, I hope! Good luck! -
Don't you just love the inequality?

Oh man, I am so sorry! With insurance mine would have been around the same price. Plus the 6 month requirements and still a chance of being denied! I couldn't take the heartbreak so I spent 5500 total to go to Mexico. If you're passionate enough you will find a way! After surgery my car got stolen after spending $500 on it to get repairs so I had to buy a new one. Then my other car broke down ....another $550! Then my gallbladder crapped out on me! I may be in debt but it was all worth it. I'm healthy, happy, and free of my weight burdens! It was so worth it. I hope you find a way! Good luck to you! You're in my thoughts and I'm sending positive vibes your way! -
You're right, no matter how much you research, you're never fully prepared until you go through it. If it makes you feel better, tomorrow I'll be 7 months out and I feel completely normal. It took about 4 months to get used to my new way of eating and now I don't even think about the actual sleeve. I'm just focusing on getting healthy. Food choices is still a struggle but I don't miss overeating. It gets better. The only choice you have is to get through the tough food phases. Good luck!

At a month out, I'd try it at home first. You don't want to ruin your concert. The first glass I had was about a month out. It was white wine and I only drank about a half a glass. It upset my stomach and gave me a headache. Have fun at the concert!

I'm sure there's reason. You could be super impatient like me and just go to Mexico! -
Not sure if it's true but someone told me the bones in your foot get wider with the more weight it has to carry. Something like that lol.
-
Yes! It's normal to feel that way. I know I did. After all we've been through, it'd be nice to have immediate results! It took me a few months to just relax and let my body do its thing. Now I'm almost 7 months out and 80 pounds down. I still have 50-60 to go but I'm enjoying the transformation. I try to forget about the sleeve itself and just focus on becoming healthy.

Does the sleeve cure your food addiction?
Nicolanz replied to Kcarr1120's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Eating around the sleeve is easy! Eat a cupcake, wait 30 minutes, eat a handful of Doritos, wait an hour, have a few cookies, and so on. I know because I've had a day like this before. It's important to know the rules are easily broken and really work on your addiction. I don't think I'll ever be "cured" but I find ways to occupy my time. It's something you have to be conscious of 24/7! Good luck to you and this is a great place for support! -

Hey everyone! Hope y'all are still going strong! I went to my mom's for memorial day so I took a couple days off. Last night I was able to do most of jillians no trouble zones which is a big challenge for me! My body is really hurting today lol. Today I did 10 minutes of yoga and 45 of zumba. I still haven't weighed or measured because I don't want to get discouraged. Plus my scale is broken lol. -
how to reset your metabolism with excersize and food?
Nicolanz replied to leeann71's topic in Fitness & Exercise
You're almost 7 months out Laura! Lol. Great job on the treadmill! I wish I had room for one. I've done horrible on my water today! I need to get to sippin! That's probably why I feel crappy today. -
I use flat out bread. Rub olive oil on it and bake for 7 minutes then add your toppings and bake for another 7 minutes. Its crispy and delicious! They have recipes on their website.
