  1. No explanation of the cause except maybe a faulty staple. Nothing I did wrong. Possibly because I'm way more nauseous and vomit a lot more than I should. It's better but not "corrected" it's hard to "correct" a problem like that. The leak itself is thought to be closed but being in the hospital do long and all the other things that have to be done to keep me alive are causing problems. Leaks are life threatening. It's a serious thing to think about.
  2. My surgeon has done the procedure before. He's done it, DS, RNY, for years. But he's never had a leak with the sleeve until me. Only RNY or DS leaks.
  3. You are VERY fertile now so if you do have sex use 2 forms of birth control!! The reason your sex drive has kicked up is because the fat cells you're shedding are full of estrogen. It effects sex drive, fertility, and unfortunately high estrogen levels contribute to hair loss. What you're feeling is fairly normal

My first surgery was 11-19, I started the day after. Got home, could take my pill and it stopped until I went back to the hospital, had emergency surgery on the 1st (I think)... Started the next day, lasted a week, I begged for the depo shot and got it on the 11th, finally stopped. Started again today. Our bodies are a hot mess with all the estrogen being released from shedding fat cells. Double up on birth control, keep scheduled appointments with your gyn
  5. I had the sleeve. I was my surgeon's first sleeve leak. I knew the risks going in and despite reading how bad it was I was NOT ready for that kind of Hell.
  6. I would seriously give it a go without surgery first. As high as my BMI was, I still regret putting my family through the complications. I just got home after a month in the hospital for a tiny leak that was caught early. I went 3-4 weeks with NOTHING. Not even ice chips. Just TPN. I had a drain and it's healing is causing me some super pain, lung collapsed, got MRSA, had a tube shoved up my nostril down into my stomach that has damaged my voice, I've lost so much strength I can't even carry my chihuahua without getting dizzy. If 60 lbs is worth the near death experience, go ahead. But I would strongly reconsider. At least try on your own :/
  7. I just have to tell you this made me laugh. I've had these dreams since my first surgery. I walk to my kitchen and just taste or eat whatever I feel like and I wake up terrified. It's silly, but you're totally not alone. Even in the hospital every time I'd pass the meal cart in the hallway I'd daydream I snagged a ranch packet and crackers or one of the Peanut Butter cups. I'd be worried if you weren't nervous
  8. I can answer this now! I got MRSA in my abdominal cavity so that's a big fat yup!
  9. Oh honey, some of my nurses drove me insane with their grammar! Even at my worst my English instincts were strong And thanks! Gets a little better everyday
  10. Or "flustrated"...hate it!
  11. It's not Saturday but I'm all out of whack. Was in the hospital for a month with a leak BUT! I'm out, slowly getting better, and have lost 27lbs since 11-19. That's WITH 3 weeks of pound packing TPN. Whew.
  12. You can check my thread "Time to check out my hospital's ER"... I got home Thursday from a month long stay in the hospital for a TINY leak that was caught early. Today is the first day home I haven't vomited. I'm so weak I need help walking to the bathroom. A shower made me faint. I can't open the lids on any bottles. I have awful pain in my drain sites from the scabs. I will forever be grateful for the weightloss. But do it again? Watch my family suffer? Have a tube shoved up my nostril down into my stomach? Strict NPO for 3 weeks? No. Absolutely not. I should've got my butt in gear, joined weight watchers and forced myself to exercise.
  13. I've never heard of anyone needing only 50oz of Fluid a day. My Dr says 64oz minimum. And since you're on solids so early I would really think you'd need more to help your system and stomach cope with dense Protein. Be careful with solids...not worth the leak risk. You should baby your sleeve, let it heal. You've got the rest of your life to enjoy food.
  14. Alright so today I haven't vomited, last night I finally took a shower (my lord did it suck the life out of me), and I weighed myself today. I'm down 25 lbs. I can't tell I've lost anything until I look down and see....my depressingly disappearing boobs. Every time I've lost weight before the girls were last to go. So with the passing of 2012, I will bid adieu to my once bubbly bust and try to wrap my brain around the fact that even with TPN and all that crap, I've lost 25 lbs since 11-19.
  15. I know I'm very lucky to have so many people encouraging me through this mess. I'm sooo much more thankful for this site than I ever thought I would be. I wouldn't wish a leak on a soul, but I'm so glad people can come here and get support that family can't offer. My family does their best and I'm forever grateful, but experience is the most helpful tool I've had. :')
  16. I've been told I won't regret it either but I'm not buying it. At most I can see myself being a little less hateful towards myself. I put my family through Hell because I couldn't control my eating and was never happy being overweight. I'm home now and so far I haven't gotten sick today. Actually ate a few bites of Soup. But my fiancé had to help me walk to the toilet, had to support my 250lb self because I passed out while getting out of the shower last night. The people that sugar coat on this site make me sick. Some of us nearly died. There's nothing positive about that.
  17. Thrush medicine is helping after first dose. Still nauseous with phenergen, zofran, and scope patch so I'm worried about my liquids. One of my dogs is home with me today. (We have 2 but I've had my chihuahua longer than I've had my fiancé ;]) he hasn't left my side. Had to move to the couch to stay elevated. I kept waking up on my belly or side when I was in the bed. I may need tied up to stay in a good position lol. Maybe I'll move into Chris's Archie Bunker chair... Two muffins are sitting in an oven. One muffin turns to the other and asks, "Do you think it's hot in here?" The second muffins screams,"AAAAHHHHH TALKING MUFFIN!"
  18. This was perfectly timed because I was started to get in a funk. I cannot express how much you all have helped.
