It happened to me once too. About 2 weeks out. I was cleaning the glue off and accidentally pulled the scab off. So I kept poking at it. And the next thing I knew I was having hot flashes and I felt nauseated to the point of throwing up and I was sweating and cold all at the same time. I had to get out the shower and lay down. After about ten min I felt fine, like it never happened. I think it was because the incision area is very sensitive and it put our nerves out of whack! It's never happened again only that one time.... Although I did stop touching the incisions.... Lol!

Lol thank you! And it's a great feeling to fit the airplane seat belt, you will feel so normal when you fly in December. I fly a lot and I didn't realized How much it stressed me out until this current trip. Smh gotta love those little victories!

Is anyone who is ready sleeved emotionally miserable? I'm having such a rough few days. I don't want to eat I just want to sleep. It's like I quit smoking cold turkey and post partum depression. I'm in such a funk! Anyone else? I was sleeved the 16th.You sound perfectly normal. I am 3 1/2 weeks post. But one week out I felt I was going crazy being stuck in the house, had no desire to eat or drink. They say it has to do with the anesthesia leaving your body and hormones. But just take it one day at a time. I slept with a bottle Water and had to set the alarm to remind me to eat. And taking mini walks outside helped a lot! Now I feel great and have mostly forgotten how yucky I felt the first week. Hang in there and just take one day at a time. And don't worry to much on hitting that 64oz a day liquid and Protein mark. I still struggle but everyday I get closer. Good luck!

Does anybody else have this plan:Day before surgery: full liquids
Hospital stay: Clear Liquids
First Week: full liquids and pureed diet
2-4 Week: Soft Diet
One Month: Regular Diet
Just wondering' date=' most of the comments I have read are different.[/quote']
Yes, that's exactly what my plan was and is. I am currently 3 weeks out and they had me pass the liquid test in hospital the next day after i passed me leak test. before I was release To go home. I was tested on the puréed food. They gave me cottage cheese. Next week I can start my regular diet!! ????

Hello,
We are neigbors!! i am in Brooklyn, near City Line. I was sleeved on Oct 2. And I am 3 weeks out. I am here for you if you have any questions. As far as what i brougt to the hospital... lets see, just the clothes on my back and my phone. The hospital provided everything else, even my toothbrush. I didnt need chapstick the nurses had mouth swaps for me that kept my mouth moist so i didnt get to the point of chapped lips. Good luck!!!

I am experiencing the same thing! This is my last day (surgery tomorrow) and the past few days I have taken ridiculously long 4 hour naps! I think it's the change in calories- don't know what your plan is but I've only been getting about 400 - 600 cal/day and I have been a cranky sleepy mess! You're almost to the end! Good luck!Good luck tomorrow, and spend the rest of the day getting hydrated!!!! It really helped me a lot. Because you'll be waiting around a lot and can't drink anything tomorrow!!!

I have no drains at all' date=' I'm walking, coughing ad using the blue suck in thingy, the pain is so going through my whole right side when I breathe in, it's horrific! It's not that I have a problem drinking I can drink its just it hurts when I do, if that makes since, they Hear my stomach they hear a little bit of stuff but not much, whatever that means they didn't tell me what they heard, I'm still on dalatid and loratab liquid for me to go home I gotta be off the dalatid totally but I get so uncomfortable and hurting that the dalatid is what keeps me comfortable ad helps me sleep! I don't know what's going to happen today I'm honestly not ready to go home but it's all up to the nurse, and I just want something to help with the gas!!!![/quote']Hang in there! It will get better. My throat hurt as well and everytime a swallowed anything it felt like it was on fire. But that's just inflammation from the surgery. In a few days that felling goes away. And don't worry to much about getting your liquids in. I had no desire to drink anything! I think I drank a total of 6 oz my first 3 days. When I got home I started sucking on ice chips which helped me a lot and by the end of the 3rd day i was able to sip a little more normally. By the 4th day it was easy pesey! As far as the gas, the only thing that helped is walking. I know your sick of everyone saying that, but it's true. Think of it like burping a baby, you have to keep patting his back to get the burp to come out. It's the same, you have to keep walkig until you feel the gas start moving. And once that happens your feel A LOT better! Good luck and have a safe and speedy recovery.

I'm on pepsid twice a day. But I'm between my doctor recommend gas-x chewable. And it works great! Some nights I've had to chew one and it helped.

I like the unflavored. 1 scoop has 21g of protien. I mix it with crystal light strawberry. I also put it in my Jello cups. It does change the color of the Jello and crystal light. And with trail and error you can adjust The sweetness. But it's great to add a little more Protein during the day. The chocolate flavored shake is the only one a like. Mixed with skim milk its not bad. I really enjoy the chicken broth. And they have a few recipes for that as well that I haven't tried. Order the sample pack first, that helped me a lot. hope this helps.

You should not be weighing or concerned about weighing your self that close to coming home. Your belly is swollen feet too. At least I was. Just concern yourself with eating drinking and walking like your supposed to. My post op appt at 2 weeks I was 15 pounds down. As of today 28 pounds down. I was sleeved on 9-12-12You're absolutely right..... But it's just soooo hard not to! Lol!

You'll be fine, just follow the advice of the surgeon. "Don't clean or pick at the incisions until it heals". I learned my lesson.
