hepktty replied to roiansmom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Costco chewables are chocolate flavored and not bad. Four and you get all your vitamins in except the weekly b12! -

If your po doet was strict
hepktty replied to amytug's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
With me 3 is the magic number. 3 liquids, 3 puree's, and 3 soft. I'm on stage 2 and pureeing everything in site. I've also allowed cottage cheese because that is so soft and easy to chew. In stage 3 I have to stay away from mostly white foods and breads , can have potatos, and gassy foods ( broccoli, cauliflower, brsl sprouts) unless they don't irritate me after trying them once. -

hepktty replied to jessejune1213's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 3 weeks out andthe first was hell. I have a 5 yr old and from day 3 I've been taking care of her. No help from family. I understan it does get better in week two and amazing in week 3. I never could get all my protein in and took 5 hrs to drink one protein drink. But as long as I felt ok I didn't worry about it. Drank lots of water as well now on purees and loving it! -
Greek yogurt-dumping syndrome
hepktty replied to TallGirl300's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've spent hrs trying to find a greek yogurt that has less than 8gm of sugar. Everyone has been talking about eating greek yogurt but until today I've only found one. My nut. Warned me about anything higher than six gm making me sick so I have stayed away. So glad I found one though! -
Frustrated with people who just don't get it!
hepktty replied to lilbearzmom's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Maybe your husband is just afraid and doesn't know how to handle it? Like the other's have said I don't think he means harm he just doesn't know how to proceed. And I don't know if sitting him down and talking or let him maybe see this site and all the responses to food and what they do to each person maybe the trick. You know him best, try different ways for him to understand. -
I am almost 3weeks out and I can already see a huge difference. I wonder why I waited so long to agree to this. For two years my doc recommended surgery but I was stubborn and wanted to do it on my own. I lost 63 lbs. But then was diagnosed with fibromyalgia. Since my surgery dec27 I have not had one flare up! And I see friends who had bypass having all these issues with food and dumping. I have not experienced one problem with keeping anything down. This has been the best decision of my life. I just shake my head sometimes as to why I didn't do this sooner.

All of my December sleevers...
hepktty replied to blkdiamond377's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Sleeved dec 27 now down 25lbs. And I also hit a stall early. So I went back to the basics. Broth and protein shakes. Lost 5 next time on the scale! -
My favorite was side salad with grilled ckn breast. I would cit it up and add it too the salad. And I was carefull with the dressing. I mixed half packet of ranch with half packet bbq. It was great.

Do you really need a hospital buddy?
hepktty replied to fallingwhisper's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I stayed two nights. It will depend on the doctor. I wish I could have stayed longer! You really dont get alot of rest the first night with the nurses checking on you every few hrs. I came home dec. 29. My daughter was dropped off the 30th. And I got no help from family. I was up making her meals, getting her clothes. I over did it but I had too. -
What's banacotta if u don't mind?

I feel so sad I was not able to stand the taste of homemade pudding. The graininess made me sick. But I can eat pre made. Had to add my protein to other things
-
I loved the frenh onion and fully loaded baked potatoe blended from the can! The box soups have a carrot and ginger one that is to die for. I got mine at target. Good variety where I live.

I'm a single mom, I had someone drop me off and pick me up, that was it. I did have visitors but the first day all u want is sleep till the anaesthesia wears off. So don't worry go alone u'll be fine. -
I'm 15 days out and 3 of my 4 incisions are dried and scabed over but one one is kinda soft with blood. Doctor saw yesterday and said looked great but today the glue has lifted and now its leaking thin watery blood. Doctor said its ok unless it becomes inflamed. Anyone experience anything like this?

Thank you just wanted to be sure!

I made the soup again tonight but due to the spiciness I cut back to a half packet of seasoning and added a can of broth. Much better for me!
-
Anyones that sound good! I would recommend not using the ones that have fruit in the bottom and are premixed. I also started saving the empty cups cuz I want to mix yogurt/pudding with creamcheese and putting frozen friut in first then the ccheese and pudding and make my own! I am still in liquids for a few days so I will let u know how it goes.

Post-op liquid to puree transition ideas
hepktty replied to blewy99's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
Fyi... for smaller bites i stared using a baby spoon. Once your on solids you can use a child spoon. But this really helped. -

hepktty replied to TwinMama07's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
There is also a carrot ginger soup that is great. I was just warned be carful of tomato soup due to acid, so i mainly stick with the white creamy. But i hear ya 2wks in and still in liquid stage, love to find something new. -
