  1. Glad you're being taken care of! It will all be better soon and you are on your way to a healthy new you! Congratulations!
  2. Goodness. You are braver than I. Several years ago I took ONE of those and my client brought me a donut when she came in for her appointment. Don't want to be rude, right? So I ate the stinking donut. YYUUMM,..NO. there was a homicide in my stomach for the rest of the day. Terrible. I stayed in the restroom for the rest of the day. I can see how it will help with the BM's, but doesn't it work to block fat and that's why you are going to the restroom? No fat = no poopy. Maybe a supplement that encourages bowel movements? I see several people posting on here drinking smooth move tea and a couple of other options. I'm sure your doc can tell you his preference, if in doubt. I don't think I would want something as aggressive as Alli. Hope you find something that keeps things moving.
  3. Fish? Shrimp? chicken breast tends to very dry so maybe cooking it so it can absorb some other flavors and make it more moist may help. I don't eat red meat (not health related or animal activist, I just don't like it) so I am a white meat connoisseur when it comes to finding different ways to cook/create it. Crockpot chicken recipes tend to be amazing just because you can get very tender/moist meats. I hope you find something that helps and "hits the spot."
  4. Isn't that the Zombie apocalypse? J/k. Congratulations on your date and new beginnings!
  5. Yes. If you're self-pay, surgeons don't require MOST of it. They do require some of it because it is needed for the procedure itself. Docotors are regulated by Insurance companies who are are regulated by other entities. Self-pay is cheaper than insurance. Look at the billing from the insurance company. It is insanely high because of negotiated rates and maximum allowed the ins. will pay the surgeon. The surgeon will actually clear close to the self-pay amount, if not less. For example, a friend and I both went to the same surgeon, same day 15 mins apart. I was self pay and she used her insurance. Her insurance was billed 675 and I paid 32. I even had to drink some dye so they could watch it and she did not.
  6. You look absolutely fabulous! You'll be at goal in no time.
  7. Yikes. Maybe sleep on the toilet?
  8. Nope. Not common at all. I haven't had any problems at all today. IPhone app?
  9. Are you doing a 2 week pre-op? Mostly liquid? That may be enough cleanse, IMO. lol. Liquid in=liquid out.
  10. Look at you! Your happiness shows through. You look amazing.
  11. Good to hear. I've been reading your posts today and glad to see it worked out.
  12. 1. Walking around butt-a$$ naked in front of my husband without embarrassment. 2. Zip lining is a must. (Most have 200 lb. limit) 3. Going to Bora Bora. I do not care about wearing a bikini. I just don't want someone to try and rescue the beached whale. 4. NEVER buying clothes in a plus-size store again. Frumpy is not what I feel like. 5. Crossing legs. Not like a man, like a lady. 6. To be extraordinarily comfortable in my own skin.
  13. Headed to Mexico myself. January 11th is my date. Saves money and gettin a vacation (going early then surgery)
  14. It really does. I hate greek yogurt and its the only way to get it in for me. It has a gagging taste for me. Almost like liquid NyQuil. so, I started experimenting with making it like that. Sometimes I add a couple of tbsps of milk and blend it, add the Protein powder, then freeze it. Might be worth a try.
  15. Ugh. Sorry. I meant unflavored with vanilla Protein powder. But I'm also pre-sleeve so my choice is definitely not for post-sleeve peeps. I also love the unflavored with banana flavored Protein Powder.
  16. Mmmmm....I buy vanilla greek yogurt, mix Protein powder flavor of choice...then freeze it for a little bit. My own version of ice cream.
  17. Good luck and speedy recovery to you guys getting sleeved tomorrow.
  18. Are you getting in a snack - some Protein before you sleep? Depending on how long you sleep, you're depriving your body of that food for 8 hours (just an example). In other words, if you are eating every 2-3 hours, you're not doing that while you sleep so eating before bed may help that, just not too much to make you uncomfortable. Hope you find something to help you with this.
  19. Wishing you a speedy recovery! Enjoy the journey. You'll be great.
  20. I know, right? How many times have I successfully lost the weight and put it right back on and then some? But then...all those fat clothes bore me! Get rid of them! Donate them, sell them, whatever you choose. Use it as even more determination to not gain any weight so you don't have to buy more clothes. Being overweight gets expensive. You got this!
  21. Thanks for sharing your success. You're right, it's nice to see when someone comes back on here and shows us newbies how someone has maintained and see their journey. You look great. Thanks for taking time to share.
  22. You can order online without a membership. You do pay a little more, but it is an option.
