  1. I just had my final appt for medical clearance with my PCP - unfortunately I am not feeling well. Feel I have a fever (which I don't) and have aches and pains and nausea. I'm scheduled for Feb 19. I have to go back Friday to Dr. for last chance before I have to reschedule. I want to get this done already.

  2. I thought for sure this would be so hard for me' date=' I have no will power.

Well I'm on day 10 and I am looking forward to surgery on the 14th! Its not been that hard for me. I think quitting smoking was harder. I have made a few dinners and decided its not in my best interest do that! Its too hard so my loving husband has been cooking for him and the two teenage boys (hes not the best cook but the boys will eat anything ha ha ). So Its worked out well. Work had been harder as they order out EVERY night. So tonight is my last day of work for a total of 32 days!!! Yay. I have 2 wereks off FMLA and then a week vacation (scheduled last year) and they just coincided together (:

And I only work 14 days a month so that's why I got so much time off[/quote']

Good Luck to you T Storm! Let us know how you do. I am sleeved on the 19th.

  3. I'm scheduled for February 25th. My Preop appt is on the 14th. I started my liquid diet yesterday. This liquid diet is going to be tough! I hope I can have the willpower to stick to it. I feel optimistic but smelling the roast that is in the crockpot for the rest of the family is difficult! How is everyone else doing??

I'm scheduled Feb 19. On day sixth day of liquid diet. It is tough but I find I'm already feeling good because I'm not eating crap and losing some weight. Yes it is tough when the rest of the family is eating 'reg' food but I'm keep thinking that this is not a sprint to better health its a marathon. Good Luck Lizzy0827!

  4. They found a large hernia and that I have Barrett's Esophagus. Barrett's is when you have acid reflux so bad that your stomach cells replace your esophagus cells so that your esophagus doesn't burn from the acid. That is why I had no heartburn (except for years ago). The bad thing is that people with Barrett's have a higher risk of esophagus or stomach cancer (however it's a very low. %).

My thoughts and prayers are with you.

That was my diagnosis also. Did they prescribe anything for that? I am taking protonix for the foreseeable future. Good Luck to you.

  5. Just had my initial consultation - initially went in thinking lap band but the more I think about it - I think it will have to be the gastric sleeve. I am a male 43 6ft 290 lbs. I have been overweight my entire life have high blood pressure and high triglycerides and pre diabetes. Need to lose 30 before surgery. Does everyone use Optifast to lose the weight?
