  1. Hi everyone. I had the sleeve done in 2012. My weight loss was good (not great) and had crept up in the last year. I had severe GE Reflux that could not be managed with medicine so I opted for Bypass on Nov 17. At my two week post op appointment, surgeon started me on soft food. I hate eating! My tummy feels so yucky and I vomit every time ( sometimes violently). I drink 1 - 1/2 Premier Protein drinks a day but I can barely get them down - now they just taste awful and I can’t tolerate the taste. I’m living off soup/ thinned yogurt but know I’m not getting the amount of Protein I need. Dr is taking back in for endoscope next week to see if there is an internal problem. Anyone else have these issues?
  2. Had my scope and got some answers as well as relief. The endoscope showed several moderate ulcers along the surgical line and I had severe stenosis where they connected my intestines to my pouch. The opening was only about the size of a pencil erasure. So when I would eat- the food couldn’t empty from my stomach hence I would throw up every time. On a positive note, no heartburn or reflux since I woke up in the recovery room- so it is a cure for that. Good luck on your journey. I’m hoping now I will improve and I’ll stop thinking I traded one problem for another.
  3. So does this happen to anyone else?. I was sleeved 10-31-12 and I've always hiccuped very fast two or three times and I knew it was my cue to stop. For the last month or so I've stopped the hiccups and started to sneeze when I'm full. What are you clues that its time to stop eating?

    sneezing when full

Well its nice to know that I am not alone :-)
  5. Sleeved 10/31. w 257 SW 249 CW 215. Going good....working out with a trainer and doing lots of cardio. Can eat pretty much whatever I want. Eating all the protein is still impossible without the aid of 1-2 protein shakes per day. Carbs are my weakness.....eating is so much more comfortable with the carbs. Three week stall has made me lose them though and go back to protein only.

    Self-Pay Sleevers

I had my surgery in Texas. $10500 was my quoted price that included up to two days in the hospital. However I had a hiatal hernia repair at the same time so the surgeon used my insurance for that portion. My total out of pocket was $7200 and it was worth every dime. :-)

    Halloween Sleevers

I was sleeved on 10/31 and it depends on what I'm eating as to how much I can get down. I can get a full premier protein shake down with no problem, about 3/4 scrambled egg, about two teaspoons of chicken or tuna salad, a snack cup of apple sauce and about 1/2 a chicken thigh. Definitely learning that small bites are better. If I hurry through it....it's coming right back up. I'm down 23 pounds so I have no complaints.

    Oct 31St

I was sleeved 10/31 also. Today has been the first day that I haven't questioned if I did the right thing. I had terrible dry heaves. Still struggling to get enough liquids in but hope the worst is behind me. Keep your head up. Everyone keeps saying each day gets better and that's what I'm hanging on too.
