Let's Check In November 2012 Sleevers!

Went to my 2 week (and 2 day) checkup today. Starting weight: 308.5 Date of surgery: 286 Leave hospital weight: 291 Weight today: 276.5 Sooo excited...32 pounds down total, 14.5 since came home from surgery. I was a bit bummed that it wasn't more than the 14.5 pounds, but that's about a pound a day, that I've LOST!! It's an awesome feeling to realize that weight is GONE :-). All this AND I had to go to the hospital this past Monday for fluids (was dehydrated). Going back to work tomorrow and had to buy two new pair of jeans as my others are too big...got them a size smaller. We are well on our way and we should all be proud and excited!! Congrats to all November sleevers :-)

    Help Im Hungry

Make sure you drink fluids. I'm 13 days post-op and am in the ER getting fluids because I got behind the eight ball with my fluid intake. Make sure you drink :-)

I totally agree with Tally. I am a week out tomorrow as well. Today, I walked on the treadmill for only 10 minutes, but then walked around my block this evening. I find the binder to be quite helpful. Life gets better every day :-). Be positive and know your boundaries. Walking will make you feel so much better :-)

I am there with you. I am 4 days out and not feeling the best. Every time I take a drink of anything, it hurts...no matter if its warm or cold, a shake or water. I'm up at night and just hoping this temporary. I am not regretting this, but it has been different than I expected. I had to stay in hospital an extra day due to not keeping anything down and being nauseous. The amount of gas I feel inside seems insane. Hoping every day will be better :-)

Good luck to all who get sleeved tomorrow. My surgery is at 2 and I'm a bit nervous, but its the first day of the rest of our lives. Be proud, be strong and be happy :-)

It just says its 100% whey protein...it is 140 calories, 0g fat, 2g carbs and 25g protein per serving for the powder.

    Protein Drinks

I am amazed at how good the pure Protein is. I'm on the pre-op diet and put some banana in it for a Choc-banana shake for Breakfast. Yum :-)

I agree! I look back to when I got my date and it seemed like forever until my surgery. Now, it seems like yesterday I got my date, but these last few days are creeping by. Tuesday can't get here fast enough :-)
  10. For those of you that are on or have been on the pre-op diet, are you/did you lose? I lost a couple of pounds the first few days and have not lost since. I'm drinking protein and eating my one lean protein meal at night. I only cheated once and it wasn't that bad at all. I thought I would be losing more. I'm a bit discouraged and am nervous. I have surgery on the 20th. My doctor didn't say I had to lose any specified amount of weight prior to surgery, just that I had to do this diet. I'm interested in your experiences with the pre-op diet.
  11. Hello :-) I'm on the pre-op diet and my diet is a Protein drink for bfast & lunch, with a lean meat/veggies for dinner. I can snack on a piece of low fat cheese or light yogurt. I'm on my fourth day and I'm doing ok. Not sure if I'm just second guessing myself, but its not that bad. I've found that my Protein Drink tastes pretty good with mio in it, I tried the chocolate dream powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury in fat free milk this morning (it was yummy) and my snack has been Greek yogurt (which I don't like plain) with fat free sugar free powder pudding added. I guess I thought I'd feel miserable, but I don't. I thought the food would be horrible (I'm a very picky eater) and its not. Has anyone else experienced this 'this isn't so bad' realization? I'm looking forward to the surgery...the 20th can't come soon enough :-) P.S. I love reading everyone's stories...they are true inspirations...keep up the GREAT work!!!

Mio is a water enhancer. It comes in different flavors. You can get it at Walmart or grocery stores, usually by the kool aid. Zero calories, no fat...nutritionist says its okay to use. I recommend the orange :-)

The protein is called Berry Chiller by RD Body; however, its pretty much the same as Iso Blast 800. It's not too bad by itself, but with a bit of mio, it is not bad at all :-)
