  1. So so proud of you!!! congrats to you!!!! Hopefully you can give me some tips along my journey. I am getting sleeved March 11th. I'd be lying if I didn't say I have my fears and doubts but I am staying strong' date=' hope to find the much needed support on here! Keep up the good work!!! Way to go girl!!!![/quote']

Thank you so much! Fears and doubts are totally normal but think of the ultimate end result! You will do amazingly. We are all here to support you before and after surgery. Welcome to the "losers" bench!!!

  2. Hey everyone! I have not posted in a while! How is everyone doing? Feeling? I am down 87.5 pounds in 4 months! It's the most amazing feeling! I have so much energy and I love being able to go to the misses racks!!! I started at 320. I lost 20 pounds in my 2 week pre-op period. I am now 233.5 and I am so excited to be almost at triple digit loss! To realize that I have lost a pre teen is crazy! Just another 65# till my goal! Cannot wait???? hope you are all doing just as great!!!!!! Xoxo

  3. So I was sleeved yesterday afternoon. I weighed in at the hospital yesterday morning at 241#. I got released home today & stepped on my scale.. 256#?!?!?!?!? Are you kidding me?!?!? The doc said I would have some extra weight from all the IV fluids & gas pumped in to me.. But 15#??? Did anyone else gain this much immediately after surgery? If so' date=' how long did it take you to lose it?[/quote']

I was sleeved 10/22. I was 299 on day of surgery. When I got home I was 308. Took about 4 days to see the weight go. It's all te fluids they give you. You are dehydrated the day of your surgery so your body automatically retains to make up for the nothing by mouth order prior to surgery. It will get better. Dot weigh your self every day. I do it once a week. Good luck and welcome to the bench!! :-)

  4. Hey everyone' date=' just had to share! After my 6 months of check ins for insurance, I was approved! My surgery date is Monday, 12/17!!

It's been nearly a year since I first went to my primary care physician to talk about weight loss surgery. I can't believe it's really happening. WOW![/quote']

CONGRATULATIONS!!! And welcome to the looser bench!

  5. I had surgery 10/31 and lost 23 pounds in the first two weeks. I was ecstatic! Now' date=' in the two weeks since then I've only lost 4 pounds and I'm, obviously, not happy.

I know I'm not meeting my goal of 50-60 grams Protein and all of my liquids. I'm trying each day though. I'm still on mushies and lots of food gets stuck.

What's going on? Please tell me the weight loss will pick up some! Not askin for ten pounds a week, but this isn't working![/quote']

It will pick back up. I am going through that right now. I am 5 weeks out and down 51 pounds. I started the gym this week and increased my fluids and Protein. It will pick back up but you will have stalls again. Don't be afraid to call your NUT and get other options. Good luck!

  6. I made it back home okay after surgery today..no complicarions just alot of painful gas in my chest . It has gone away now but comes back once in a while. I thknk its still gas. And it does it when I drink tok..my chest tightens and a gurgle comes up..and then its gone..is this.normal?

Normal. I had the same thing. Still do as far as the gurgling. Now when I gurgle or hiccup I know I am full. It starts to calm to down a bit after a few weeks. Walking helped the gas along with gas x. Good luck and welcome to the bench!!

  7. 14 days post-op' date=' with 7 more days of full liquids to go (per Dr.) and I am going crazy! I am starting to have crazy food cravings. I tried blenderizing some canned chili with cottage cheese and a bit of sour cream. NO WAY will that work, its too spicy for my new pouch. :(

    I must respect the pouch....[/quote']

Yea. You will find there is a lot you can't handle. I became lactose intolerant and vomit every time I have eggs. Dairy products are my favorite so hoping the doc approves lactaid pills.

  8. Totally normal to have the jitters. I was sleeved oct 22. The day of was the worst for me. Just super anxious. And being a nurse myself, I knew what was going on. After the surgery I had some gas pains and nausea/vomitting but that is how I usually react to anesthesia. You will do fine. Keep your head high. I am down 33 pounds and super happy I did this. You will be too. Good luck!!!!!!

  9. Even after resting for a few hours' date=' my stomach is burning and feels "full". I feel like I would feel better if I could throw up, but I certainly didn't overheat!

I have a headache, too. I'm hurting under my right shoulder blade and down my right side. Blah. <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':(' />[/quote']

It sounds like gas. Try walking and drinking warm tea or warm Water with lemon. Nothing else. Walking is the best tho. Feel better

  10. still undecided..... I have searched for several of the best to do the gastric sleeve....and wanted to go to Mexico ...however' date=' after reading and speaking to many people--I will have it done in the USA....take a loan.......just got out of school....so it is difficult..... how did you find your surgeon ?[/quote']

I found my surgeon through my insurance company and also through lots of research. Personally I would not trust going to Mexico for any surgery. Do your research and doctor shop. Find someone that works for you and fits your personality. Good luck!
