  1. Isn't Martin and normal in the same sentence.. an oxymoron? (Actually that probably goes for most of us, but more noticeable and fun to point out Martin)
  2. Type "complications" in the search bar and you'll find plenty of what youre looking for
  3. I took me a couple months before I could begin to like Greek yogurt, it was just too thick for my taste. Now I eat black cherry Chobani (14 gr protein) mixed in my cottage cheese w/pineapple (11gr protein) and love it.
  4. If I mistakenly eat too much or too fast I get hiccups or chest pain. I try to measure everything so I don't eat more than I should. That wa I can keep track of things too. At first, you learn by trial and error..it's just hurts sometimes
  5. Welcome to the losers side of things.. Congrats and so happy to hear you're doing so well.
  6. Try a variety of different shakes NOW until you find one you like. You're going to need a favorite one post-op. It's best to find it now . And yes.. If you don't find one you like there will come a time where you gag just thinking about it let alone drink it
  7. I'm going to play the devils advocate here and just say.. Maybe it's time you both could benefit from therapy? I mean a lot of us can ... and do. You don't seem to have your mind set on anything, but eating and getting full. This is going to have to change in order to progress on any wls journey. We're all food addicts and that is one of the steps we have to work on and change. Without the willingness to change your old ways.. Nothing is going to work whether you have sleeve or not. Your main focus CANNOT be food.
  8. That and flax seeds are great. NOT UNTIL you're on solid food though.
  9. I had a stall that lasted several weeks.. As in over 7 weeks! Then it has been just a pound here and there. BE PATIENT! It's a journey not a race ;D
  10. Always freezing before surgery and worse now. I can see the new Arizona population.. Older peeps and us wls peeps
  11. Psst.. Congrats! I'm not supposed to be here on the vets forum, but had to tell you again what a beautiful baby you have. Sooooo precious!
  12. I pretty much tried anything that could be puréed, but only did a couple bites of new things to see if I could tolerate it. I puréed chicken in broth and added it to almost every liquid soup My main food sorce was puréed chicken in blk bean soup, tortilla soup, potato soup etc., Greek yogurt, protein shakes, baby food pouches ( yes, seriously,) I couldn't eat more than a few bites for the longest time so taste wasn't a big factor until I got to mushies. Oh, I stayed away from smoothies because they tend to be loaded with refined or natural sugar and I felt best not to defeat the purpose of things
  13. Wow.. Just around the corner.. Congrats! It's such an exciting feeling to get the journey going, isn't it?
  14. Maybe the turkey stuck in your chest meant you were full? You have to learn the new signs and they may not feel like the normal way you used to feel. If you feel hungry you're attitude probably has a lot to do with it. Set your mind to everything positive and try to get past the negativity you're reflecting right now. Even if you are hungry.. If you eat the right protein your new tummy isn't going to allow you to over eat.. It will tell you. And sometimes it will tell you in unkind ways
  15. I used the sugar free torani to flavor mine.
  16. That's how I feel.. And my kids are the same. They wear all their sports scars with pride and a story to go with every single one! Some are from being stupid and those have the best stories that as a parent you never should have been told.. Holy crap, the things I didn't know
  17. I've had 6 laparoscopic surgeries regarding wls and a couple were able to use same spots ... But my stomach has many scars and some are from 8 years ago until recently. Can't say mine look like the normal laparoscopic surgery.. I look more like a drive by shot gun victim. oh well!
  18. If I had to remain in the hospital another night they would have had to put me under. I was ready to leave and get going the night of my am surgery. I felt like a caged animal. I had two nights in hospital (3 counting night pre-op) and two in hotel. The hotel time was marrrrrvalous.. And so much fun.
  19. I agree you look like a new person.. Congrats! You definitely glow with happiness and health
  20. Wow.. 88lbs?!? That's awesome .. Good job! You're looking great!
  21. Good for you.. You need to do it and stop yoyo'ing your life away! Thats what I was doing and my PCP told I'm slowing killing, myself by doing that. One good thing about being self pay... It' a 12 grand incentive to push you when you need it.
  22. Aww.. Can I have her, can I, can I ... Pleeeeease? She's so beautiful! Congrats and so happy you're doing so well. Yes, you've been missed and glad you stopped by.
  23. Prayers for a safe surgery and fast recovery. Bless you.. And sweet dreams
  24. When I had my breast reduction he told me not to tan my scars for the first nine months following surgery, because they are more sensitive to the sun during this period and may tan darker than the surrounding skin. This darkness, if allowed to occur, may be permanent. Generally, it's safe to start using sunscreen on your incisions three weeks after surgery. Even if you are wearing a bathing suit, you should still cover your incisions with sunscreen during this early period of nine to twelve months. Tanning beds can be particularly injurious to your incisions, and this activity should be avoided completely during the first three months after surgery and always use sunscreen and cover your scars
