    band to sleeve

Band to sleeve revisions in one surgery are quite common and very successful. Trust your surgeons final decision .. They know what's best for the patient. If by chance they decide not to do your sleeve it's for a very good reason... Your safety.

Ate chicken noodle at 3 weeks

My motto is.. If you think it's bad it probably is. Stay on track and one major goal in your new lifestyle should be to stop making food a feel good source. Good luck

How Do You Beat the Cold?

I'll blame PdxMan when rainageddon starts in the PNW Ive been cold since the day I arrived on earth. My normal wear is a tank top, t-shirt, sweatshirt, tights, over the calf socks, jeans and a down coat if I leave the house. Sometimes I leave the coat on if where I go is under 70. I even take a blanket with me. In the summer I wear sweatshirts.. But skip the t-shirt. LOL.. I'm a cold person and drive my family nuts.
  5. (I know this is off the wall) I've been under so many times and have actually experienced death twice. With this so called hibernation of time I have concluded one important thing.. I do not fear death. It just happens.

    No desire for food.

I didn't have any desire for food until about 7 months out. I did drink my required amt and I had to remind myself to eat so I didn't mess up my weightloss. Your hunger will come back, so right now is your time to learn your new healthy lifestyle. I
  13. Tha lapband was never meant to be a long term tool. Once you meet your goal it's supposed to be removed. Unfortunately.. Few drs tell patients that.
  14. Besides my actual health this was a huge issue to my family prior to surgery. Of course they saw me several times at my unhealthiest weight of 100lbs with the band.. So I don't blame them. I set my goal at a high 130lbs and the red line cut off at 125lbs. I've been hovering at 127 for along time. Sadly, I keep wanting to lose more because I don't like my thighs. My PS told me NO MORE WEIGHTLOSS ... Weightloss isn't going to help the spots I'm unhappy with. Losing more weight would be an unhealthy thing to do. So be it. I am healthy and thats my main goal. Basic reasons for looking unhealthy is diet and losing too much. Excercise is definitely a bonus for the extra glow.. But some of us can't (naturally) do much about the south pole pull

    Left side painn

Ok, typical mom response here, but I'm also a sleever so... Have you had good BM's? Because it does make a difference if that is lacking. Either or it's probably intestinal issues.. Which are most likely normal (kind of). With that said... I'm not dr so ask your dr if our really concerned

    Didn't work for me.

You "pouch" sounds like a hiatal hernia and should have been fixed during the your sleeve procedure. Also, I'm assumming your surgeon meant it happens SOMETIMES in lapband patients. Certainly not ALL. Personally, in my small humble opinion... This pouch, regardless of why it's there should have been fixed and is very fixable still. I'd get a second opinion and work the sleeve to its fullest ability.

    Feeling Guilty

I agree with the others .. Plus, I'm sure she's just so disappointed that she needs to find fault. Hang in there and have a little patience with her and maybe things will smooth out.
  18. No one needs after care from a bariatric dr. Your PCP can provide everything you need for follow up. If you have serious complications that require a bariatric specialist the hospital will provide you with one. This happened to me twice with the band and I was cared by two of the highest ranking bariatric surgeon in the area.

    Guys I need your help!

Get in your car and go getcha some electrolyte enhance fluids. Concentrate on water/drink before your shake. Hydration is NUMBER ONE priority. Also, if your shake is milk based you may have a new found intolerance to it. Go slowly on things and kind of test things so you are aware of what your new stomach can handle
  20. With any weight loss its always harder to lose the closer you are to goal. Its tougher after honeymoon phase, but very doable with a decent lifestyle change NOT diet pills. . Thats idiotic and getting back to the unhealthy rut we all want to leave in the past

    1 month post op scare

Glad you're better now. I too made myself sick learning my new stomach and it only took one time to learn what not to do.

Follow-Up Care after surgery in Mexico

Unless its an emergency your PCP can do all your follow up care including labs. Most PCPs wont hesitate referring you to a bariatric specialist when needed

    Found an interesting Blog

A person can die getting a tooth pulled and even toe surgery. ALL surgeries carry a risk. And btw.. If she had 48 friends die from WLS .. I sure wouldn't want to be her friend.
