  1. You can do an expedited appeal with UHC they will approve or deny within three days of receiving completed appeal.
  2. I was sleeved on 10/16 I am down 17 pounds 23 since 10/9 preop diet. Doc put me on soft food for two weeks. I've found egg whites and even chicken to be an enemy of mine!! Makes me extremely nausea. Also I'm on Prilosec OTC 2x a day. Overall I feel great!

  4. I'm only a week out but I will agree with you!! Like never before I feel as if I'm going to make it this time also!! Wow!! 125 pounds down that's great!!! Keep up the great work!!
  5. I wanted to share my experience so far. Please share your good, bad and ugly also! I'm ten days out (Oct 16, 2012) My pain is practically gone just a little discomfort on larger incision. I'm on stage two, I go to stage three Monday. The good.....I'm down 11 pounds since surgery, and I can tell! I have a ton of energy. Not like when I was dieting. Im hardly hungry but if I do get hungry it takes about 3 bites or sips of water to go away! The bad.......heartburn!! I had it three days but I call my surgeon and he told me to take Prilosec over count twice a day until he sees me next week. That helped tremendously! The ugly....I almost died on a little piece of egg...guess it wasn't so little. I immediately had to vomit but nothing came up. I had sharp pains in my arm, back and I was standing over sink sweating and heaving for about 5 mins!! I'm sooo glad it was just my daughter and I in the house and not at restaurant or with my boyfriend. He would have rubbed my back through but he would have laughed me to scorn afterwards!! He's mature like that!! Overall its wonderful and I don't regret a thing!!

  7. I didnt lose but I lost on one week preop before surgery
  8. UHC Community in NJ covered my sleeve, it was done October 16th one week ago and I'm soo thankful!!
  9. I called UHC everyday and they were very nice about giving me the status, less annoyed then my surgeons office. So try calling them. They were pretty quick about decision they say they have 2 weeks to decide but mine took about 4 days after my docs office finally turned in all paperwork. They even told me what they were still waiting that was delaying response. UHC was great!
  10. Tell him. I was in same situation, met a guy and I adore him we've become the best of friends. He treats me like a queen but is constantly feeding me, but he eats a lot. I knew I was going to have surgery and didn't know how to tell him or if I should. He is very athletic didn't think he would understand or still like me if I'm smaller...lol...I know crazy. But I told him and he's been wonderful. He had his mom make a special meal for me for my last meal and made such a fuss about it being perfect! He hasn't told anyone and has been there for me on Tuesday when I had surgery and checks on me daily. He says he will work out with me, whatever makes me happy! Long story short I'm soo glad I told him!!
  11. Oh sorry to hear! I just came home today also. Please feel better.
  12. I use total lean for preop. I just had surgery so I hope I can continue. I like the pumpkin spice.
  13. Thank you all! It went well, I was in quite a bit of pain day of surgery but today was soo much better. I have gas...belching..and there is discomfort in tummy, but no pain. I'm eating...very little. Two medice cup of broth and two spoons of hello.
  14. I had surgery Tuesday and I'm one day postop. I was in terrible pain and uncomfortable yesterday but feeling much better today. I've walked twice so far and no pain meds. I passed leak test and wad able to eat some broth and hello...umm Yuck! But soo far so good.
  15. I am so excited it feels like Christmas eve! My surgery is scheduled for 7am. My mom just called and said she will pick me up in a half hour! I've said my prayers for myself, surgeon, anesthetisiologist and anyone else who has to touch me! I'm ready! All I have to do now is hug and kiss my daughter and go!!
  16. I'm scheduled for Tuesday October 16th. I'm nervous but also soo excited. I've been doing pretty good on my one week preop diet and I've been walking around mall about three times this week for extra exercise. Every time I go to buy something I stop myself and get excited that soon I will be smaller and will be able to wear some cuter clothes soon. :-)
  17. October 16th for me!! Please add me to the list! I start my one week preop diet today!
  18. Thank you soo much! I was worried because I have UHC NJ Medicaid I thought it would be a tedious process getting insurance approval but thank God it really wasn't that bad!! But hang in there and keep appealing! Good Luck!
