When can i eat a peanut butter and jelly sandwiich?

I tried PB2 when I was doing weight watchers a few years back and I did not like it at all. My tastes have changed drastically since my surgery though so I might need to give it a try again. :-)

what is your favorite snack post op

Newgrandmother, I honestly couldn't tell you as I wasnt counting anything....I was just eating when I felt like I needed to and ate what I was able to keep down. First 2 months were really hard on me and I had some nausea issues for a few weeks. Mostly my portion sizes were very, very small and no bread of any kind up until this past month. LOTS of chicken as it has mostly been the only protien that hadn't given me issues. When I saw my Dr for my 3 month check up he asked me what I was eating and then said actually tell me what you aren't able to eat. We went over the things giving me issues and nothing seemed abnormal for where I'm at in my Time line. He said he wasn't going to call my weight loss abnormal yet, he would just continue to monitor me, but he wanted to make sure I WAS eating (which I am! ) my starting weight was 432 though so I still have a ways to go. :-)

    hair loss?

I am 4 months PO and just had my 3 month blood work and follow up with my surgeon. My blood work came back that everything was ok except my B1 was VERY low, D was low and folic acid was borderline low. I admit that PO I had issues taking my multi Vitamin but on 12/26 I finally found one that I can tolerate and I've been taking everyday since then. My surgeon added additional B1 and D and said we would reevaluate at my 6 month check up. For the past month or so I have been losing hair REALLY bad. I'm not talking about normal, light shedding. This is hard core "I'm surprised I'm not bald" coming out. I'm scared that my hair is going to start looking even thinner than it already is really soon if it doesn't get under control. I didn't get a chance to ask my surgeon about it yet and was wondering if anyone else had experienced anything similar and was there anything you did that helped stop it???

When can i eat a peanut butter and jelly sandwiich?

I am 4 months PO and still have issues with bread. I am just now at a point where I can eat SOME but not a lot. I originally tried toasted wheat bread because I read that it was supposed to be easier on you but quite honestly I cannot tolerate wheat bread at all. I can only eat white bread and it does do better if it's toasted. I can eat a sandwich usually if im really hungry and with 1 piece of white bread folded over with some sort of moisture like low fat mayo or mustard.

    chipotle? subway?

I really enjoy the salads at subway. I do the steak and cheese (spinach, lettuce, green peppers, banana peppers, onions, shredded cheese, fat free Ranch & chipotle sauce) if you ask them, or sometimes they ask you, they will chop it up for you so it's all mixed together and in smaller pieces.

what is your favorite snack post op

I am 4 months out, 100lbs lost, and my favorite snacks right now are cottage cheese or 100 calorie packs of popcorn.

    Threw up

I tend to have this same symptom when eating beef (more so in a "solid" form like steak, roast etc). Taco meat consistency seems to work ok for me. The other thing this happens to me with is bread or bread like products (surprisingly flour tortillas seem ok as long as I don't try eat them with any form of meat, just egg and cheese for a breakfast taco). It has been a few months of trial and error for me personally. The main thing I've learned is what works for some doesn't always work for you, you pretty much just have to try different things and see how your body reacts. Most people seem to not be able to eat bread but I can eat SOME bread just in small quantities and small, well chewed bites. I've also had the cough and the food just comes back up. I'm sure it's probably pretty common. I would suggest that if it continues to happen on a frequent basis that you might want to mention it to your surgeon.

I Only Have To Fast 24 Hours

I did not have any pre op requirements except nothing after midnight the night before surgery. I was 432 the morning of surgery so i completely expected to be on a liquid diet as well prior to surgery. My surgery went ok but the Dr did tell my husband that my liver was enlarged but they didn't have any issues because he could find all my landmarks.
