Good luck to the rest of the Octosleevers! Just remember how strong you are!

So I was up all night with alarms because of my pulse being on the 40s. No one seems too worried though. Other than that a little sore bit not excruciating. Walked a ton. Think that helped.
-
I am still at the hospital so she called the on call doctor and my personal doctor. Back up to the 60s now.
-
My pulse is below 50. They don't seem too concerned though. Gas pain is ok but incision hurts like heck. And I can't sleep.
-
So its done! Doing good. Right after they moved me into my room the pain was unbearable (and I am one tough cookie). For up and started walking and its a lot better! Of all things though ny left hand is numb. They said it happens quite often. Hoping tomorrow is better.

When my doctor called he explained why he wanted me to do Clear Liquids for 2 weeks. He said that a lot of people continue to be or get naucious (sp?) because even the thicker liquids or purees are too much for their "new" tummy.

Good luck everyone going in this week.
-
So tomorrow is the day! The doctor just called me to see if I had any questions and give me a couple of instructions. He is so great. Pretty much ready. Bag is packed. Family is all set up for the week. I keep thinking I am missing something.

Ok so I told myself that if I could make it 3 weeks on the preop diet without cheating then I would have my favorite Breakfast today, favorite lunch tomorrow and favorite dinner Friday. Then liquid diet Saturday and Sunday. Today I got 1 kolache from the kolache factory. It took me 30 minutes to eat it. And now I feel like I have a rock in my stomach!
-
Question - what did you pack to take to the hospital?
-
-
I don't know what my problem is. I have gone 3 weeks on the pre-op diet and did really good. I have lost just shy of 20 lbs. Now, 1 week left and I want to eat everything! I haven't. Only took a couple of bites of my "famous" jalapeno potatoes yesterday, but I really want to eat. And I am not an emotional eater or anything like that. I thought it would get easier, not harder.

I am so glad to have read everyone's experiences. I will be sleeved on Oct 22 and it can't come soon enough! But I am much better prepared because of all of you!

They had told me to have the tests at least 10 days out so if it was positive they could give me the medicine. I hope that is enough time. The weird thing is that I had called the surgeon's office this morning and they said everything was good. My PCP is the one who called me. I read that some people have to wait a couple of months after testing positive. I am kind of freaking right now.
-
Just found out that I tested positive for H-pylori and my Dr office is closed. Surgery in 13 days! I hope this doesn't postpone it.
-
I live in the Houston area too.

I made hubby hide the battery to the scale this morning. I was becoming obsessed. It was nice to see the weight coming off with the pre-op diet but I seem to have hit a stall. Oh well. We'll see what it is in 10 days at my pre-op visit.

I am at the airport headed home and proud to say that I made it through 4 states without cheating on my pre-op diet! Woo hoo! Lol.

It is so real now hearing everyone coming out of it. Thoughts with everyone going in today!
-
It is so awesome to heat everyone's story as they get to the summit of their journey. It makes me that much more excited. Day 2 of travelling for me. I didn't cheat on my pre-op diet yesterday. Today they want to take me out to lunch. I really don't want to have to explain to strangers that I am supposed to have a Protein Shake for lunch! So I figure I will at least try to get a salad - no dressing.
-
Good luck everyone going in today! With some of us going in it makes my day seem that much closer. I am not really nervous though. More like a kid before Christmas! I have done great on my pre-op diet, despite everyone trying to tempt me. I have never had more people offer me food. "I feel so bad for you. Are you sure you don't want some? Here just take a bite." Erg.
