  1. I also used Dr. Lopez but in Tijuana. I have never received such great care!
  2. I would suggest going to the doctor as well. I had the same thing at about 3 weeks and my paid was from bending down alot and picking up after my granddaughter. Once I stopped bending down it took about 10 days for the pain to go away. Good luck.
  3. I also think it has to do with location as well. I chose a Dr. with a '9' rating and I went to Tijuana which and the hospital was clean and the care was outstanding. The hotel was great as well...and the cost was considerably less because of the location. Take your time and do your research and go with what your gut tells you. Good luck.
  4. The same thing happened to me at about 3 -4 weeks in. I was bending down alot picking up my granddaughters toys and such and my stomach hurt for a week later but now it is fine. Mine felt like I pulled a muscle or something but it did go away. Sometimes we feel so good we over due it without even thinking.
  5. I was so constipated in week 4 I didn't go for 8 days. I had so much pressure I couldn't even sit down. I went to my Dr. and the first thing she did was an x-ray to make sure there were no obstructions...which there was not thank goodness but I was still in extreme pain. I ended up taking lactulose and Senna (4 pills) for 3 days straight and they finally worked. I will never ever get like that again because now if I miss a day the next day I take 2 Senna and they work. Don't let yourself go too long.....try to get a handle on it before it gets so bad.
  6. This is normal. I was the same way until I started eating pureed foods. I would go to bed at night hungry but it does get better. Stick with it because you don't want to cause any problems with your new stomach.....it will all be worth it in the weeks to come.
  7. When I was 2-3 weeks post op and eating pureed foods alot of time I dodn't feel full and I would go to bead feeling hungry every night but now that I am eating solid foods in week 6 I do feel full at every meal because I make sure I have protien at each meal which fills me.....I hated protien shakes and couldn't do them so I always felt hungry. I hope it gets better for you too.
  8. I started at 281, almost 6 weeks ago and I am down 31 lbs. but never lost last week so I think things are slowing down for me as well but I am happy with each pound I lose because like everyone else is saying....I know I will keep it off because I can't eat much.
  9. Just curious as to why you are having he surgery if you have a low BMI, I thought you had to have to lose 65 lbs or more? You said that if you lose 6 lbs you BMI will be too low....are you really tall? Just curious. All the best to you...and yes things will taste different after the surgery.
  10. Same thing happened to me in week 5. I am hoping this week will be better but I am told stalls do happen and not to get discouraged. Hang in there, it is sure to catch up.
  11. I was the same until about week 5 and now everything tastes great again! Hang in there...it does get better.
  12. I am almost weeks post-op and only had 3 days where I couldn't eat and that was when I had a problem with constipation last week. I eat about 5-6 times a day and I am always starving when it is time to eat. I can only eat about 2 -3 ozs. at a time but an hour later I am starving again. I think everyone is different.
  13. Thanks everyone for the words of encouragement. I will keep going and I'm sure it will catch up. I will take my measurements too!
  14. I am in week 4 and I have been doing awesome up to this point ....lost 26 lbs. but I did not loss any weight this week. Has this happened to anyone else. I am so scared that I went through this and I'm not going to loss weight. I have been following my post-op diet to a T and have not put one thing in my mouth that I shouldn't......
  15. Good luck, that was me 4 weeks ago and all is well!
  16. I get that also...and I think it is when I eat a little to quickly because when I eat really slow it doesn't happen.
  17. Thanks everyone. I don't have my gullbladder and I didn't lift anything heavy. It is not really pain, just discomfort and tenderness and I don't really feel myself today, so I just got home from work and am going to go to bed and relax for the evening and hopefully feel better tomorrow.
  18. I am 3 weeks post-op and have been feeling great up until today. I am gettin "kinks" under my right rib cage. My stomach feels like I have been lifting weighs or something. Has this happened to anyone before? Thanks.
  19. If you drink your between meal liquids (water) I find it helps take the fullness away because liquids pass through the sleeve quickly and will not make you feel full. It works for me and I am 20 days post op.
  20. You are doing awesome ... it is by no means easy but you have a great start!
  21. I was only allowed Protien Drinks for breakfast and lunch and a salad with protien in it with fat free salad dressing for the first four days, and then protien drinks for teh balance of time but on the last 3 days clear liquids only. This was the hardest part.. but it is worth it in the end.
  22. Great idea, I just checked out the site but they do not ship to Canada
  23. This is very frighting. I didn't know that was possible. I am sorry it happened to you and prey to good it never happens to me.....now I am scared. Let us know how you make out.
