  1. Hi Artsong

I know how you feel I am right there with you. I have lost 30 pounds since day of surgery and will be hitting 6 months on the 24th of March. I too thought it would be a lot faster loss. I too am wondering what the hell I spent me my money for.

The one thing that really bugs me is in the Morning I weigh 118.7 and in the evening I weigh between 3 and 5 pounds more, making it really difficult to decide how much I have lost. I am now not counting losses unless it is also a loss in the evening.

I have been exercising regularly and starting keeping a journal again. I am having trouble keeping on the presurgery diet so I have given it up for now. Hopefully with counting each and everything again I will be able to see whats wrong.

on a more postiive note congrats to everyone else most of you are doing fabulous.

  2. KParker, I have wondered if the sleeve was too big, but they ensured me it was the regular size of 32, that they do for all their patients.

It is just me snacking in between meals.(I'm so bad) My servings are small enough at meal times, Problem is I can tolerate small amounts about every 2 hrs though. I need to quit eating inbetween meals (note to self- stop doing that). My Happy Dance left me, I weighed in at 203lbs after lunch today. 200lb this morning. I always self destruct when I get close to being past the 200lb.

I guess you have guessed by now that I fell off the wagon on my liquid diet. Will start again in the morning.

  3. Happy Dance day 2 of returning to the pre surgery diet. I have broken the 200lb mark which for some reason was really important to me. I couldn't believe it. I woke up this morning and weighed myself stark naked 198.1. So I went and had my Breakfast drink, went to the pool for an aqua class. Came home and weighed myself dressed with shoes and weighed 199. I want it to be nightime now so I can weigh myself to see if after the whole day I still weigh less than 200lb. I am so excited. Thanks everyone and greenfamily for just telling me to do it. Exciting to see what the next few days will be.

  4. 600 cal per day seems normal for the first month. you will start to want to eat more as time goes on. 800 to 1500 is about normal for most people.

The most important is to chose healthy all rounded food to get proper nutrition within the calorie and Protein range.

Almost everyone stalls in weight loss from time to time. I myself have been in a 2 month stall. Nutritionist suggested going back on the pre op diet for a couple of weeks to jump start and no eating between meals for me. But as mentioned by others everyone is somewhat different.

Good luck and you are losing good for now.

  5. I was sleeved Sept 24 at 230lbs and I am now 203lbs so I have only lost 27lbs. Very slow loser as well. My pre surgery diet weight was 252 so if I include that I have lost 49 lbs. My nutritionist suggested excercise and no eating between meals. She also suggested going back on the pre surgery diet. So far all I have done is the exercise 3 times a week. I am going to go back on the pre surgery diet as soon as I talk myself into it. I have heard of a couple of other people who lose quite slow but do continue to slow after stall periods.

  6. Happy Valentines everyone. You are all doing really great on your weight loss. I am still the slowest though, with only losing 27lbs since day of surgery(230lbs) Sept 24 and pre surgery diet of 252lbs. Although I do work out 3 times a week, I am not the best at watching my diet. I am still eating only half of what I used to eat so you would think I would lose on that alone, but nope. I have been stuck for 2 months now. I bought the stuff to go back on the pre surgery diet as suggested by nutritionist, but I havent started yet. I have to pysch myself up for that. I better get off the pot and get started.

My sounding board for the day. Thanks for listening all.

  7. Hi All

55 yrs old had my surgery Sept 24/12 highest weight 252, surgery day weight 230, current weight 203 have been at this weight since Dec 15/12.

Cant figure out why I have stalled. I have uped my excercise program now, waiting to see if that helps. If it doesnt help, I am going to go back on the presurgery diet for a couple of weeks.

Glad to hear your all doing well.

I went through menopause from 45 to ongoing, but mainly mild symptoms

  8. Hi Tami

I was sleeved by Dr Ortiz in Sept. They pretty much supply everything you need. I would suggest a book to read and toothbrush/paste. They supply the gown/houscoat/slippers/underwear while in clinic. For the hotel and wear to clinic loose fitting clothes such as elastic waist pants/sweat pants and t-shirts to walk around in. You will need money or charge card to purchase meds before you leave the clinic to take while staying at the hotel.
