Looking For A Friend/mentor In Kentucky

Hey All!! I live in Lexington... going through the 6 month requirement for my insurance. Hope to be sleeved in april 2013. Would love to find some pen pals/friends!!!!
  4. I am a pre-sleeve ER nurse, am going through 6 month program required by insurance. I am curious how you did when you returned to work..... with getting in your fluids and protein, eating every 2-3 hours, etc.... I know there are times now that I am on the run for hours without a break or chance to grab some food. Do you all have any advice or tips? Thanks!!!

Dr. Steiner @ St. Joseph East

lol.. your very welcome! i did the seminar in early sept. don't remember specific numbers, but do remember their mortality percentage is like 0.3% working in health care that nothing is guaranteed and everyone has a chance of complications.... but hoepfully we will be 2 of the lucky ones.. lol i am planning on my surgery being the beginning of next april. not telling many people because i don't really want to hear their opinions. my dr.ok with it.... my parents and best friend are very supportive. you may want to take a small notebook to take notes if your family has lots of questions. it's a lot of info you will get that day.... good luck and let me know how it goes!!!!
  10. Anyone know of any good informative books about gastric sleeve??? i am pre sleeve and want as much info as possible. am looking for pre sleeve books, things i need to know book, recipe books... anything thanks!!!

    Skin Removal Surgery

one year after reaching your goal weight... even though you may not be losing weight, your skin is still shrinking to adjust to your new body.

    Skin Removal Surgery

I work with plastic surgeons, and they all have said they want you to be a goal for about 1 year before you have surgery. this gives your skin time to shrink on it's own and be at a stopping point. and it depends on how much skin is being removed as to how many procedures can be done at one time. don't want it to be to much trauma or shock on the body
  15. my dr. told me to try the NO!No! says it works... i is expensive though... but really thinking about buying one. so tired of the excess facial hair. was hoping to hear that getting sleeved would help with that...bummer!

    Seriously Worried... Help!

she needs to be supportive and not be stressing you out... i'm being very selective in who i'm telling and one of my very close friends is actually doing this with me. you just gotta relax and deal with the issues when they come up.. as my granny would say, "stop borrowing trouble." lol

    Seriously Worried... Help!

i've heard you have to give it time and the skin will shrink some.. and there is always a tummy tuck. i worked in surgery for 9 years and already have my list of things i'm having done if needed... lol
  19. Hey!! So I'm new here... I'm a 37 year old single ER nurse in Kenycky. I have started the journey to getting sleeved, and have to do the 6 month mumbo jumbo that my insurance requires.
