Odd Symptoms Less Than a Week Out
Try PB2 for the peanut butter craving. Bad breath is probably from ketosis. Amanda Rae

How did you not lose you jobs?
Go through HR and look into intermittent FMLA for your preop requirements and FMLA for you surgical leave. You will need you medical professionals to provide supporting docs. Shouldn't be too complicated.

Flavorless protein
I tried unjury flavorless in my Powerade Zero and it tasted sour and gross. Not impressed at all. Amanda Rae

... is DVT. I've been getting these twinges or aches in various spots on my hips or legs and its got me convinced its blood clots. Then it goes away. Then another ache or twinge elsewhere. Which my brain convinces itself the clot is mobile. Help! My brain is my enemy. Amanda Rae

How did you tolerate a long flight home?
I did pre boarding too. I flew Southwest and sat in the very front which has tons of leg room. This allowed me to stretch my legs out and flex my feet and ankles. Amanda Rae

Double check with your surgeon as to how they define clear vs full liquids. That's how Dr. Aceves defined it. Amanda Rae

That hurt...
She has lost about 100 lbs on WW this time I'm very proud, and even admittedly envious, of her success but I've supported it. Always. She almost primarily communicates via text, unless we're together in person, and I've developed a huge disdain for texting anything other than superficial chit chat. I think I will have a sit down with her...

Official Weigh In!
- Official Weigh In!
I've followed the postop instructions to a T. Plus walking off and on all day. 10 days Clear liquids. 10 days full liquids which is where I am now. My goal is around 600-700 calories and 50+ grams of Protein. I'm using MFP to track it. Amanda Rae- That hurt...
So today I weighed in for the 1st time with my pcp. I'm two weeks postop and down 27 lbs. I'm very pleased and plan to wait 3 weeks until my next weigh in to step on the scale. I did not hide the fact that I was sleeved not that I went to Mx for surgery from my nearest and dearest. Most were supportive of me. A few questioned my choice of venue, Mexico, but understood why I wanted the Sleeve. Except my BFF. My BFF and I previously found much success with Weight Watchers before (a super awesome program) and then we backslid together. She successfully found her way back to WW success but I couldn't (or wouldn't??) wrap my head around it. My BFF did not/does not support my choice. When I would attempt to bring up my up and coming surgery she wouldn't acknowledge it. I get the impression, not confirmed, that she thinks I'm cheating or taking the easy way out. Fast forward to today. My 1st weigh in postop, two weeks later. 27 lbs! Hooray. So motivating. I shared my success with my nearest and dearest. Everyone replied, via text, hooray and congrats. Genuinely happy. Her response, which stung: "Yay surgery." Am I being sensitive? Amanda Rae- OMG Carb Free (!) Pasta (Chicken)
This sounds super tasty. Amanda Rae- Official Weigh In!
Thank you! I was, like many I'm sure, terrified I'd be that wild exception that fails at the sleeve.- ideas for full liquid stage?
- Official Weigh In!
I had to share this with my fellow Mexi-Sleevers 1st. I weighed in on my 2 week Surgiversary today at my doc's office. I'm officially down 27 lbs! Feeling good and so motivated! I go back in 3 weeks. I think I may "weight" until then to weigh in again!!! Amanda Rae- ideas for full liquid stage?
Any trouble getting your fluids in? Protein? Amanda Rae- I cannot believe what I'm doing...don't I get it?
- I cannot believe what I'm doing...don't I get it?
I totally agree the process is stressful and confusing. I also agree we should work to encourage, guide, and build each other up. Whether it was researched to the point of obsession (me) or not is no longer relevant. We are sleeved. We should be work on helping. I sincerely hope my previous comment was not taken as an attack. It certainly wasn't meant that way. Amanda Rae- I cannot believe what I'm doing...don't I get it?
I think the whole process can be very confusing and stressful. And I agree we should try and be supportive and helpful.- I cannot believe what I'm doing...don't I get it?
I had a very similar thought about exactly how much research had been done preop. I would have delivered my question a lot differently tho. Either way, you cannot un-ring the Sleeve bell. I'm glad you're here now gathering data. It is my understanding that we will increase our caloric gradually and back to a healthy caloric intake when we are in maintenance. Right now if we were consuming more calories in our tiny tummies than we'd have to be consuming a lot of junk. Like milkshakes. It's a process. We leaped. We're sleeved. We have to trust the process.
