Runnin' Down a Dream... Headed to Mexicali
I happened in the middle of the night when Yolanda and Gail were gone. They were able to find an English speaking nurse really fast, but when you're starting to panic it seems like an entire ocean to cross to make the connections. Amanda Rae

Heart rate regulated now. Dr. Campos is keeping me an extra night for observation. Amanda Rae- Runnin' Down a Dream... Headed to Mexicali
Home may be delayed. My heart started acting up in the middle if the night. I've had a history, which was disclosed, but out if the blue SVT and a lil a-fib in the mix. I think it's feeling normal now. I'm waiting to hear from Dr. Campos. The language barrier, which doesn't bother me when asking for ice, towels, or a wash cloth can be a little frustrating under times like this. I'm not complaining about the language barrier. Im in Mexico. i expected Spanish speaking people. I'm just recognizing the potential weight it can have in a situation that goes left of center. Amanda Rae- Runnin' Down a Dream... Headed to Mexicali

I have located the Belly Exit. It is up and to the left of my belly button. Amanda Rae- Runnin' Down a Dream... Headed to Mexicali
Wow! Thank you so much. I've had so much anxiety and irrational worries while waiting for my surgery time and sharing in other Sleevers' experiences has helped me so much. I am glad to try and return the favor!!! I will try to give a very detailed summary once I am home. Amanda Rae- Runnin' Down a Dream... Headed to Mexicali

The colostomy style bag actually got in the way a lot less than the drain bulb I had for gall bladder several years ago. Although I was just as happy to get rid of both of them! Good riddance to the drain. The worst part of my experience was the nausea and vomiting. I expected it, as anesthesia affects me that way, but it sucked. My back hurts. No pain meds since actual surgery day. I am slowly grasping the "Art of Sipping". And burping. And tooting. Amanda Rae- Runnin' Down a Dream... Headed to Mexicali
Took a very long, and hot, walk to the mall today. Totally kicked my butt! Heading back home tomorrow. I'm missing my family. Amanda Rae- Runnin' Down a Dream... Headed to Mexicali
My drain was removed today. Like most people report. It was quite an unusual sensation. Unpleasant but not painful. No catheter. I peed in a bed pan while in recovery. Kinda made a lil mess. They cleaned it all up in my room. Everyone was very attentive. Some language barrier with the nurses but we all managed to work around it. Amanda Rae- Runnin' Down a Dream... Headed to Mexicali
Thank you! Dr. Aceves and his team are wonderful. Truly. Amanda Rae- Runnin' Down a Dream... Headed to Mexicali

No leaks! I got to see my tiny stomach in action. Too cool. Graduated to chicken broth. Totally better than the blue liquid. Amanda Rae- Incisions
I have 5 including my drain but no incision near my belly button. Where did my stomach exit?! Amanda Rae- Runnin' Down a Dream... Headed to Mexicali
I hope we are of like minds! I'm getting better at sipping. And burping. Not to be gross or tmi but I really want to toot!! I'm on the edge of a toot, I know it. Amanda Rae- My bum
