  1. I had Mirena and it was awful. The side effects were not worth it. It did its job as far as pregnancy prevention but totally whacked out my hormones. I started having problems with anxiety and it may have contributed to my losing my vision in my right eye. Optic Neuritis. I recovered most of my vision but not all. I had to have it removed under sedation because they couldn't find it and now my periods are horrendous. Painful and heavy. I'm not a fan and would never recommend it. I do know many use it and love it, but I am not a member of that club. I hope that whatever direction you go in is smooth and works well, minus side effects and complications.
  2. Like Laura stated on her exercise post, it sure beats being in a gym. It was a workout but easier than when I tried it last year.
  3. Well Ohio doesn't have mountains or the ocean like good ole Cali but my hubby didn't see how I could justify the airfare just to hike!
  4. Perfect day to be outdoors!
  5. Just spent most of the day hiking with my family. Kids and I loved it. The hubby complained... Until we got to the waterfall!
  6. I broke up with my CPAP.
  7. I also like Powerade Zero. No calories or carbs.
  8. My favorite! It went down easier than plain water.
  9. Also, contact your surgeon to advise you if it's okay to have your PCP prescribe you something for flying anxiety. I would not suggest mixing it with alcohol tho...
  10. Southwest has options for their more substantial passengers. Also, I too took the option of medical pre boarding, postop. It also allowed me to ask for a seatbelt extender discreetly. http://www.southwest.com/html/customer-service/extra-seat/index-pol.html You can also let them know you're a first time flyer so they can assist you, and comfort you accordingly.
  11. I got stranded, thanx to a blizzard, in Denver while on my way home from Mexicali after my surgery this past March. Does that count?
  12. I'm curious about something. Does it matter how other ppl feel about your WLS decision/journey?
  13. Thoughts on adding probiotics into my life?
  14. I will look into that. I though about added a tbls of whole chia seeds to apple or pear juice too....
  15. Very much so I want it. I'm on day three of having nothing but minuscule BM's. I did have a power poo on Tuesday. Nothing Wednesday. A sliver in Thursday. A larger sliver today. I've been eating organic prunes. Added chia seeds to my smoothie yesterday (yum). Took MoM on Monday, power poo on Tuesday. Took MoM on Wednesday. Sliver and sliver. I feel pressure in my lower abdomen. Large intestines I believe. Please help!?
  16. What sized needle?!?!
  17. Tried the Cookie Dough yesterday... Sooooooo yummy, especially warmed up! The brownie was really good too! :-)
  18. Since we're talking military, would it be more apropos to say you're commandeering the thread?
