    Syntrax Nectar Protien Shakes

what did you mix it with?
  3. I am also on Zoloft and about 3 weeks pre-op...my surgeon looked over my med list and said the only thing I needed to stop taking before surgery was my daily low-dose of aspirin...I haven't asked yet about post-op meds, but he recommends no NSAIDs ever after surgery...I have been on Zoloft for quite some time now and can't imagine just stopping taking this especially during such a stressful time in life as having surgery

    SUPER NERVOUS

Molly, I am the same way...it's one thing to be researching and reading about others' experiences...once your own surgery date is set, and you start preparing for the actuality of it, that is when (at least for me) the major anxiety set in

    Syntrax Nectar Protien Shakes

thanks, everyone...I just usually like liquid drinks like this very cold or icy...I wanted to make sure it was OK to blend them with ice
  11. Today I set my surgery date for May 6...now that an actual date is scheduled, it seems much more real, and of course I am much more nervous about the surgery...I met my surgeon today, and he seems very confident and capable...he comes highly recommended, and I think he is a good choice...but still I am the worrying type and will probably second guess myself every other day until May 6...just please be patient with me! one thing that the bariatric coordinator told me today was that I would no longer pre or post surgery be able to take NSAIDs...I think she said Tylenol would be my only OTC option...that surprised me, because I thought from my research and reading on this site that one of the advantages of VSG over gastric bypass was that you wouldn't be restricted by the type of pain-killers you could take OTC...did I misinterpret this? If there are others getting sleeved around the same time, let me know...we could compare notes and support each other...here I go!

    Well, the date is set

With Dr. Hargroder there is not...I was somewhat surprised...I have always found it odd that the different surgeons have such variance in their pre-surgery protocol...some surgeons require a 2-week pre-op special diet, and I've seen where others have a week long pre-op liquid diet...with my surgeon, he only requires a liquid diet the day before surgery

    Baton Rouge Area Sleevers!

you look great, Kurt...how are you feeling physically and emotionally? 153 lbs is amazing...were you pleased with Dr. Hargroder and his staff? I have just had the one consultation on Monday when my surgery is scheduled...it just feels weird to me to be putting this much trust in the surgeon and staff and only to have had one consultation, but from what I have read this is not unusual...I wish you continued success

    SUPER NERVOUS

thanks for posting this...just reading it makes me feel like I am not alone...my surgery is also on May 6 coincidentally, and I suffer from panic disorder and OCD as well as depression...I have a prescription of Xanax that I take when my anxiety level increases, and I am not surprised that I am having to take it every day since my surgery has been scheduled...I also take Zoloft for depression and the OCD...I see a therapist, and when I had another type of surgery back in 2009, she made this tape for me where she was talking to me in a soothing voice and saying affirmative things that she personalized for me and my situation...I would listen to that tape in the days before surgery and afterwards...it is hard to explain but it was sort of like a mild form of hypnosis to get you relaxed...I hope we can all support each other through the message board and this forum

    Syntrax Nectar Protien Shakes

I know this is going to sound like a stupid question, but how do you prepare these Syntrax shakes? Is it a powder that you mix with water and/or ice? I always think of shakes as being thick and made with some type of milk product, but I take it you do not mix these powders with milk. How many grams of protein would a standard shake have if you mixed it with 16 oz of water? I am totally new to this protein shake thing but am sure I will become a pro
  16. do you get the BJs from a website or are they available in retail outlets?

    I am scared to death

It does get more scary once an actual surgery date is set...mine was set Monday for May 6, and I have been very nervous this entire week...what I am going to try to do is read as much as I can on the message boards and take notes--maybe concentrating on the preparation will somehow help ease my fear and anxiety about the surgery and post-surgery life

    May 2013 Sleevers!

I am scheduled for May 6...currently I am 270 and my personal goal is 150...I am always amazed at the different pre-op protocol among surgeons...I am self-pay so I had no insurance requirements, and my dr does not require any kind of pre-op diet other than the day before surgery (clear liquids after light breakfast)...I am very nervous about the surgery and living with the sleeve, so I welcome all the support I can get
