    Sleeved on thursday

princesx, I was sleeved Monday...for the first two or three days, my stomach made lots of rumbling noises--probably was gas...it does get better...now that I am 6 days out, it isn't rumbling much at all

    I am worried

thanks, ontoanewlife, that is a positive way to look at it...that is what I am hoping for; i.e., one day I can enjoy small portions of some of the foods I love and feel satisfied...I think that is what we all want

    Woman's Hospital--Louisiana

hey, Aline...I just started a topic titled "I am worried" that sums up my current state...the surgery went very well, and Dr. Hargroder was awesome, as was the staff at Woman's Hospital--I can't imagine a better hospital in which to have surgery...I was fortunate to have very little post-surgery pain and haven't filled the pain med script I got...I am struggling to get in my liquids and Proteins, and having a little post-op depression...I am looking forward to being able to eat even one spoonful of real food how about you? how are things with you (hint: I need some encouragement that things will get better!)
  9. I don't think I ever had the weight gain from the short time I was on IV fluids in the hospital...but a friend had told me not to weigh myself the first few days I was home...I am 6 days out today, and I am down 9 lbs since surgery day...most of the gas and bloating is gone but not all...my biggest thing is that I am occasionally getting that heavy feeling in the center of my chest between my breasts--sort of like indigestion or gas pains...my dr gave me a script for Prevacid which I might try--has anyone else tried that? Like whodatcat, I am not sure if what I am experiencing is acid-reflux related or true hunger

    PB2 powder?

I went with my list to GNC today...they told me they usually sell PB2 (the peanut butter powder), but they were out of it...he said the grocery store across the street sold it...I was skeptical...they did have a product called PB2 that was a "natural peanut butter powder," and it was on the shelf with the organic peanut butters (not in a health food or dietary section)...I have seen this product recommended on the message boards...is this product I bought at the grocery store the same as what others are using here on the message boards post-surgery?

    May 6 post surgery

sorry to hear about the pain and nausea some are experiencing...I think the gas is expected...I was sleeved May 6 and most of the gas is gone now...my biggest challenge so far has been getting in enough liquids and protein...I also second what some others have said....thank God for the IV pain pump

    May 2013 Sleevers!

I do think it is a good thing that you haven't had any interest in food... I was hoping that would be the case for me as well...I am craving food, although I think it is not truly hunger but "head" hunger...glad you are doing well post op

    May 2013 Sleevers!

I am glad to be reading some shared experiences...my stomach was making all kinds of noises yesterday, but today has been better...I feel hunger, too, but I think it is only head hunger...I started full liquid today and will be on it for about 12 days (until May 20)...just trying to take it one day at a time...

    May 2013 Sleevers!

glad you are doing better and going home : )
  16. thanks, all...I had some of the same concerns as laceeb...I was sleeved on May 6, and I also haven't really felt full...I don't know if it is head hunger or real hunger...I also am craving my favorite foods...I am just trying to get in my protein and liquids and following my post-op plan...I will be happy when the liquid stage is over...May 20

    May 6 post surgery

good news, capt kirk and felicia...I have been fortunate thus far with very little pain...I am struggling to get all the hydration in..still on clear liquids until tomorrow

    May 2013 Sleevers!

Glad to hear that my fellow May 6 sleevers are doing pretty good...I have been blessed so far with no major issues...still have a little gas but it's bearable. That day of surgery and during the night I used the pain pump some, but no pain meds since I've been home...still on clear liquid diet until tomorrow...the Isopure protein drinks aren't that bad tasting, but it's difficult to get all the liquids in when I can only sip a little at a time....my stomach is making noises all of the time--is anybody else experiencing that? Also, I thought I would feel no hunger...I am not sure if I am feeilng real hunger or just "head" hunger...I think I am still in the mourning stage; i.e., mourning the loss of food

    May 2013 Sleevers!

Hi, Eva. Sorry I am not able to answer your question, since I haven't done a whole lot of research long-term outlook...for me, this surgery is sort of my last resort, and I feel much more certain of what my long-term consequences would likely be if I don't get my weight and diabetes under control my surgery is tomorrow morning, and I am very nervous right now...I think all I still need to do is pack a few things for the overnight hospital stay...my fellow May 6 sleevers: how are y'all doing?

    PB2 powder?

thanks, y'all..I have another question...whenever something calls for a "scoop," how does that translate as far as tablespoon measurement? I have seen scoops in various sizes, so I don't know what a standard "scoop" is
  22. I agree with mom2five...honestly, I think you are beautiful in all of those pics...I can see your face slimming down of course, but I truly don't see much change in your facial features themselves (with you that is a good thing, because as I said you are beautiful already) congrats on the weight loss so far!

    Syntrax Nectar Caribbean Cooler

I also just ordered a sample pack...I am interested in how each of you prepare these...I am having my surgery Monday...will be 2 days clear liquid but will be able to have these nectar drinks after that..I am thinking I would mix them in my Ninja blender with water and ice to make like a slush type drink...thoughts?

    May 2013 Sleevers!

my surgery is at 8:00 am but I have to be there at 6:00 am...don't think I will sleep much at all either Sunday night...did shopping today for my post-op needs..have y'all done that already? what did you buy? what is your plan for tomorrow? I can eat a light Breakfast before 10:00 tomorrow morning, then Clear liquids the rest of the day with nothing at all after midnight tonight was my niece's birthday, and I went out to eat with the family...it was my last real meal pre-op...we went to Carrabba's, and I had Sicilian chicken Soup , some bread, chicken parmesan with angel hair Pasta, and one spoon/taste of my niece's ice cream dessert...I think that was a fitting "last" meal--good food and with my family
