    Pain, nausea and Gas pains

Hey! I had my surgery April 3rd too! Just wanted to say hang in there! I was struggling earlier this morning with feeling dehydrated. I love water and only taking small sips is such a struggle. I'm not going to lie, I have been taking bigger sips and dealing with the slight pain it sends my stomach. Anyways, good luck!

    Surgery's tomorrow!

Hey guys! Thanks for the replies and encouragement! I had my operation at 10am and I'm now here in the recovery room watching the office on my phone. Haha I'm so bored and I've slept enough that I'm worried I won't be able to fall back asleep later. The only thing I have to complain about is how sore my stomach and back are. I want to get up and walk around but I'm not allowed to till later. Can't wait to go home to have some chicken broth. I'm actually craving some

    Surgery's tomorrow!

Congrats on the surgery! And thank you. I was very curious about the whole pre-op liquid diet thing. Anyway how are you feeling since the surgery? I'm hoping to be able to move around by Friday. Is there any hope for me? Haha
  7. My surgery is tomorrow/today as well! The best of luck to the both of us!!!
  8. And for some reason I still feel as though it's not going to happen. I'm excited! My doctor didn't tell me to go on a liquid diet for these past two weeks and I've notice a bunch of people that say how it was necessary. I'm hoping this wont interfere with tomorrow. I was just told to eat light. Ah well yeah. I'm just excited and wanted to share. Hope all is well with everyone!

    Echo...echoo...

21! And just like Aaron I also had no clue that there would be so many younger people out there going through this process. Glad I'm not alone. Getting the sleeve next Wednesday! Best of luck to all of you!
  10. Hey! My surgery is next Wednesday (April 3rd) and although I don't live in TX now, I will be starting June 1st! Huntsville to be exact! And I'm sure I'll have some questions about the bariatric centers over there so yeah haha we can be sleeve pals
  11. Liz we're in the se boat! Hope things work out for the both of us! Good luck
  12. So I'm almost done with my 6month weight watch requirement. I only have two more visits left and then I will be able to be scheduled for surgery. I was just wondering if anyone who had to do the 6months had a problem with having gained weight and being approved? I've gained 7 pounds in 4 months and I'm afraid my insurance is going to deny me if I don't lose the gained weight or gain even more. My BMI is 41 and I was told by my nutritionist that I should watch losing too much weight so my BMI doesn't dip too low. But what if I do t stop gaining? I'm eating right. It's just portion control that I'm having trouble with. But the surgery is going to basically control that. So yeah lol
  13. Hey guys. I haven't posted much but I have been ghosting. During my journey to actually getting my surgery (4 months so far!) I've been reading all of the posts on here and they've all really helped me get by. But today I kinda got bummed out. I've been working with the NJBC for the surgery and what I was told was that after I fill all the requirements for them and make 4 visits with them (one each month) I'd be able to schedule the surgery. My last requirement was met last Tuesday, and my last visit was the following Thursday. I was told that my navigator would call me with my scheduled surgery and she did. She called me about a half hour ago and told me that she just spoke to my insurance (I have 1199-Aetna) and that they have different requirements in order for me to be scheduled for the surgery. Basically the only requirement is that I do a 6 month diet. Now like I said before, I've been working with NJBC for 4 months now. My navigator says that all I have to do is make two more appointments (one in January and one in February) and then I can be scheduled. Now what bums me out is not that I have to wait an extra month and a half. But that I feel like no matter whether or not I make these appointments, my insurance company is going to wind up saying that I have to start all over and do the actual 6 month diet. Because that's what they're looking for, right? I mean my navigator really just sounded like she was saying " ok 2 more visits and we'll see if they'll accept it". Ah idk, did anyone else have an issue like this? Also let me not leave out that during these 4 months I've actually gained 8 pounds and was told to just not gain anymore or lose anymore by my nutritionist. Yeah lol I just really need some reassurance that I'll actually get this surgery instead of being misled. Trust issues- if you haven't noticed haha.
