    Frustrated and at a loss.

Hope all went well my thoughts are with you!
  2. Before song would be Another Day, by Paul McCarthy. My after song would be I'm Coming Out, by Diana Ross.
  3. I am feeling same way. I was sleeved 8/31/12 and have only lost 42 lbs. I have been going up and down with same couple of pounds for the last month or so. I am starting to worry that my body just won't give up the fat. But I know I also am snacking too much and am falling back into bad habits cause I also have a sleeve of steel. Why oh why couldn't I have come out of surgery with sugar/chocolate allergies? I am about to clear out my freezer and fridge of all those sweet treats I have saved just in case. Well just in case comes way too often, it is time for drastic action. (I have a problem with throwing away sweets.) ;-(

My Diet At 21 Months Post Op

I think everyone is different and reacts differently to certain foods. We each need to figure out what is right for us and go with it. It is a continuous journey to finding our own healthy lifestyle!

All Alone On My Big Day

You can do this! You have everyone's support on this forum. I use this as my support system, because I chose not to tell anyone but my hubby. Look thru this site as you go through the different phases. Use the search feature and look up things as you are going thru it; like depression, regrets, and other scary feelings you go thru at first. This will help you see that it is normal. Then when you realize that these are normal feelings and will pass you feel better. Hang in there we are all here for you!!!

    I Didnt Believe You

I fix my coffee every morning with about half cup milk with a half scoop protein powder mixed in. That way if I am not hungry for a while at least I got some protein in. The chocolate is really good.

    Help! This Is Not Working.

I feel same way! It seems so slow! I was sleeved Aug 31st. From preop till now I have lost 37 pounds. It seems you read of so many on here that lose so fast, but some of us do not lose that fast. All the responses on your post are very encouraging. I understand your frustration. Although I wonder about my eating cause nothing seems to bother me, I just can't eat very much at a time. Hopefully, because it is slower, it will be like one poster said, no saggy skin and no hair loss. Please let it be that way!! We will just have to stick it out and wait for our time, cause it will come!
  8. Just cook as healthy as he will let, and slowly inculcate this into your kids. Unfortunately everyone is right you cannot force anyone to do this. I know inside out and backwards what I should eat and how much, but doing it was a whole other thing. No one could have told me what to do or how much to eat, cause I would have done it just to show them I did not have to listen to them. We each have to reach that point where we want to do it for ourself. That is the only way it works. Hang strong, it takes time.

    Please God!

Yeah, me too. I always said I didn't have wrinkles cause I was fluffy. No I am just hoping I lose, wrinkly or not!

    Will This Actually Work?

I feel the same way! I was sleeved Aug 31, and have lost about 30 lbs. it goes 28- then 30- then back to 28-. It's very frustrating, cause I am so afraid that I ripped out my stomach and still won't get there. I chart everything on my fitness pal and probably over estimate, but get about 1200 cal per day. I need to lose about 100 lbs, so I feel like it is so slow. However, as one post said I am losing, so that is good! We need to stick with it and see where this adventure goes.

    Ugh Cold!

I am always hot! So now when I say I am cold my hubby looks at me like I am crazy! I would still rather be cold than always sweating. I mopped my house yesterday and did not sweat-- awesome!!
  12. I told my boss that I was having surgery and that it was for personal reasons. No questions were asked. Later on a job someone asked what kind of surgery did I have, I said it was for personal reasons, again no questions were asked. My life, I can keep it to myself if I want to!

    Junk Food. Why?

Try reading these books: Mindless Eating and Intuitave Eating. It really helped me to re- evaluate my eating habits. I still have these urges, but I am much more aware of the choices I make.
  14. So sorry you went through so much horror, but so very glad you are still with us. I was originally going to get the band, but when they passed one around the room during the seminar, it really freaked me out. After hearing your story, I am glad I made the decision to get the sleeve.

    Unjury

I tried the starter kit also. Now I have ordered a few of their products. Everyone's taste is different, just try it and see.

    Comppliments = Eating?!

I hate the attention I get when I lose weight! But I want to lose all of this excess weight so bad! I feel that at least with the sleeve it will help me to keep it off, cause I want to be healthy.

Anyone Not Tell Family Or Friends?

Only my husband knows. I too did not want the negativity and my family trying to talk me out of surgery. I have been overweight since I was a child, I just can't take it anymore. It's hard staying on a diet, and the weight comes back on so fast! I am a slow loser and probably won't have to explain for a while. I am 53 years old and did not make this decision lightly, it took years to convince my husband that this was necessary. I am still trying to believe that I actually had surgery on Aug 31st. I am still trying to believe that this will actually work. So for me, I need this time all to myself, to make the physical and mental adjustments, without being under scrutiny by everyone I know. I hate being questioned about what I should or should not eat, what I should or should not do. It's my life and my health, it's my decision! When I do finally have to explain, it will be when it's obvious that it has been successful.

    Awesome! You look fantastic!

    Off Day

Oh yes! Some days you feel like you could eat and do anything, then somedays you feel drained and down, and somedays your new tummy will not let you eat! Everything is an adjustment.

    Hubby Is Mad

Did you suggest he go to the doctor with you and ask all the questions he wants? Or explain that you love him dearly and would very much like to be there with him healthy and fit and happy in the future; and that this procedure will ensure that this goal of a lifetime together will happen. I hope very much that everything works out for you. Hugs!!!
  21. Some of us just lose slower. Sad but true, so try not to compare to the quick loss that others have. Trust me I know it is discouraging. Maybe you are not getting enough protein, get some good quality protein powder and try to get the required grams of protein so you can heal up and feel better. The first couple of weeks are kind of discouraging for those of us who lose slow, but every one on here is very encouraging and they continually tell us to stick with it and it will work. So you and I will eventually get there at our own body's pace.
