  1. The toll free number is 877-765-8446. You can reach Ronda, Janese and Sandi at that number. The other for everyone is 916-683-2808. You can also find email addresses on their alighterme, com Good luck and let us know how it goes!
  2. I was quoted $4700 with Ready for a change and $4500 with A Lighter me. So I paid less by going with a lighter me. My experience was that A lighter me provided much better service. The hospital and doctor was all the same but if you are alone you will want someone to check on you often and not just tell you to have the front desk call your coordinator if you need something. I was also given a bag with supplies so I don't know what happened with the person that didn't get anything. All of us got a bag. We were picked up in a nice van and the driver Abraham was very attentive.

    A Lighter Me... Tijuana

Most definitely the service is superior through A Lighter Me. At least that was my experience while I was there. There were some other patients there that were left on their own. I know there was 1 from Ready for a Change and the other 2 might have been from someplace else. The A lighter me coordinators offered to help the others which I thought was very nice of them!
  5. Another happy Dr. Garcia patient here too! I signed up though A Lighter Me alighterme.com email is info@alighterme.com and phone is 877-765-8446. Talk to Ronda or Janese. Both ladies are very helpful! They were great and went above and beyond! You will be in great hands!

  7. I just posted about this subject on another forum. That's so terrible what happened to you! Please everyone, research the coordinator you choose. Ask them what state they are registered in as a corporation or LLC or? Most states have a website where you can check to see if they are a legitimate business in good standing. Do they have a business license? Anyone can put up a website. Are they a member of any business organizations like the Better Business Bureau? Look it up on the BBB website. Ask to have their refund policy in writing. I disagree with you with paypal. Anyone can set up a paypal account. You are much safer if they accept credit cards. My husband owns a business and you have to jump through many hoops to get a merchant account to accept credit cards. If the company you work with has all these things, you are less likely to get scammed and if they try to scam you then you can dispute the charge on your credit card and file a complaint with the BBB and the state where they have their corporation too! I hope you are able to get your money back!

    Calling All Dr Garcia Patients...

I have read just the opposite. My experience with Dr. Garcia was great! I felt that those of us that signed up with A Lighter Me got a lot more attention than those that were with Ready for a change. Our coordinators Eduardo and Abraham even went to the store to pick up something one of their patients needed. They could have said that she was not their responsibility, but they helped her even though it was not their job! Her coordinator was barely there! But either way you will get Dr. Garcia and his medical staff and that is what is most important. However if you want more attention or if you are going alone I recommend going through A Lighter me.
  10. I'm down 24 lbs! Including my pre op diet. That counts too right?!
  11. I'm sorry nurse, I didn't mean to bash anyone. I'm sure there are many people that would prefer to be left for some peace and quiet. I'm more of a people person that can't sit still for a minute and I can always go for shopping. Just ask my husband! He complains about my shopping all the time!

    Calling All Dr Garcia Patients...

Another happy very recent Dr. Garcia patient here! Like one poster mentioned the only complaint I heard was from some people that wanted to go shopping and moving around the city. It all depends on which company you book with. It seems that not every company offers that service. I did get that service, some of the others there didn't.
  13. I'm sure you will be fine! I met a total of about 12 patients during the 5 days I was there, Some coming and going and some having surgery with Dr. Garcia and some with Dr. Lopez. I did get a room with 2 beds in both the hospital and the hotel and my husband stayed with me the entire time. All the doctors spoke English well enough to communicate. Some nurses didn't speak a lot of English and I don't speak any Spanish but we were able to communicate enough so that I was comfortable. All the staff at the hotel that I came in contact with spoke English too. Some people brought their lap tops and had phones that had apps with translators. If you have one I suggest you bring it just in case.
  14. I too just had surgery with Dr. Garcia but went through A Lighter Me. The hospital is new, very clean and only 2 years old. Some of us there signed up at A Lighter Me and some signed up with Ready 4a Change. Some had surgery, me, with Dr Garcia and some had surgery with Dr. Lopez and Dr. Osuna at the same hospital. This is only my opinion but those of us that went through a lighter me got better service. We were visited many times at the hotel and the driver took us shopping and to Walmart, because someone wanted to buy some sweat pants. Abraham and Eduardo drove us back and forth to and from the hospital. We didn't have to use the hotel shuttle like the others. The people with the other company were almost ignored. But we all hung out together so we all supported one another. I'm sure if someone had a problem they could have called the doctor and at least he would have come to help them.

    Hello

Just wanted to say hello! I'm new and just had surgery in Tijuana. I tried insurance but all bariatric surgery is excluded! I went to Mexico for the same reason as most everyone else that went there did. I couldn't afford surgery in the good 'ol US of A! I'm just so happy it's all done and I'm excited to start losing, get healthy and can't wait to buy new skinny clothes!

    My Journey. 55/lower Bmi/mexico

Your experience sounds just like mine! I can't say enough about the doctors, nurses and especially Eduardo and Abraham! I wonder if they ever sleep!
  17. I'm brand new here! I just came home after having surgery with Dr. Garcia! You will love him and all the nurses too! I would recommend him to anyone. I didn't go through ready 4a change, I signed up through A Lighter Me. We met up with some of their patients and they were not a happy as the rest of us. Once they got to the hotel they were basically left on their own! Our coordinators Eduardo and Abraham were awesome! They visited us several times a day, took us to Walmart and shopping at Revolution Ave where we could shop at street vendors. They had jewelry, leather goods and painted pottery and lots of other things. I wanted to get some authentic souvenirs and we all had a good time. They wouldn't let us stay out to long saying they didn't want us to overdo it, but we had about an hour to shop. We also met up with some patients of Dr. Lopez and Dr. Osuna. They work at the same hospital as Dr. Garcia. It was nice to meet the other patients and we all exchanged email address and promised to keep in touch! You will be in good hands!
