    I Hate Stalls! :{

    I have heard of the 3rd week post op stalls but I have only lost 12lbs since surgery and I am already on a stall. I lost 17lbs before even going in, seems I was doing better on my own. I'm happy that I have lost a total of 30lbs with preop and post op but I'm getting frustrated because I am hungry but not eating anything substantial and feel like i should be losing the weight right now at least during these first few weeks the most. definately ready for some variety of food, i am sick to death of protein shakes, popsicles, liquids and soup!

    I Wake Up With My Stomach Hurting

    I'm having it too, Its like a dull aching, especially when I breathe in deep. I think maybe it's just still a little swollen. I was wondering if I was filling it up too much with mushies and it was stretching and sore. I am really paranoid about that right now because I can't tell when I'm full until I am stuffed. I know, I know I'm still working on the signals. It also seems to hurt more (or maybe again its subconcious) when I seem to sleep on the side my stomach is. Hoping its just still soreness from surgery.
  3. Me too, I'm just 10 days out from surgery and my psoriasis is flat and smooth, no scales no lumps...amazing! Hoping it clears completely up, I've had it for 10 yrs in the same spot and the more weight I gained the more it seemed to spread across my foot. Thrilled!

    Occ/ Dr Ortiz And My Experience

    I'm glad you guys had a great experience, my surgery was with dr verboonen in Mexico and lets just say the experience was less than desirable, almost like a nightmare. Thank god at least I'm fine so far and sleeved and losing weight which was the ultimate goal anyway! Yay! Ive done great and not had any complications thus far and very little pain but as for everything else it was a cluster****. Can't say I am happy about the trip and all the organization surrounding the surgery and the coordinator who got paid to do absolutely nothing in my eyes because she was in another part of Mexico when we got there so we never met her nor would she return our calls while we were in Mexico but i guess some have good experiences and some have bad. Definitely go with a doctor that has a lot of positive reviews, they tend to want to keep their reputation up and make their patients happy ones!

    I Want To Eat

    Omg I am laughing so hard right now! As I stand here reading this I am looking at 3 hotdogs that were left over from my family's supper tonight thinking to my self those use to be mine, of course they are left overs now for someone to inhale in front of my face tomorrow during lunch since I can no longer have them! All I want is one bite.... My family has all ate and is now off doing their friday night things and i am Still standing here with the cabinets open and my tummy rumbling wondering whether I'm gonna have chicken broth or beef broth. Ugh!

    Lump Or Ball Feeling

    I have this too, I am only 4 days postop but it happens often and sometimes happens when I'm not even drinking anything (middle of night). I will sit up straight and it will take a few seconds and I will either burp a small burp and it feels like the rest of it just rolls back down again or i won't burp at all and it will just roll back down on its own. Kind of feels like gas but I am not certain thats what it is, cause I can never get all of it up. It is very uncomfortable. Also, I get this weird sensation in my tummy, almost like a full sensation when I'm sipping drink or Soup and trust me my sips are baby sips. I'm definately not consuming what I should be and surely not taking in enough liquids for my tummy to say its full but I'm just hoping that this is just a "new" feeling of something being introduced to such a small area and my body's way of getting used to it. I don't know. I've lost 18lbs since pre-op diet though so I guess I will have to take everything in strides. If anyone can give me some tips on this clear liquid stage I am in right now because I am tired of the same old stuff. I haven't done a Protein shake since surgery but I just got back home last night and they didn't give it to me while I was there. I'm confused by what exactly a clear liquid is at this point, I hear clear liquid, full liquid, what the heck? BTW my doctor wasn't that informative, which is one of the reasons I regret having had it done in Mexico. I know alot of people do and are happy with their experiences, but mine was not a good one. Don't really care to fuss about the experience now but any help or advice from some post oppers would be helpful, since I really have no where to turn right now for answers other than this blog. Thanks Guys!
  7. Hi guys, my sister and I were sleeved thursday, similar complaints. I can barely even sip anything without a lot of pain, first in the chest area then a few secs later down in the tummy area. It kind of feels like something is lodged and that the Iiquid is having to leak around it to go down. Hurts badly and makes me not even want to take in any liquids. I'm scared if I don't keep sipping I will become dehydrated and it scares me that I will not even be able to takes in soft foods when it comes time for that. I know it still just a few days out but I'm nervous. The chest pain comes also when I lay down and when I have to burp, but only some of the burp will come up but some goes back down. Frustrated! Any advice on how to bypass this stage.

    Crossing The Border!

    update- passport will be here Monday! My sister expedited hers before mine and she still has no status, weird but I'm sure she'll have it in time since they processed mine same day I had it expedited. Starting this liquid thing tomorrow, super scared I'm not going to be able to follow through. I've seen a couple posts of people saying things they took with them and used and didn't use. I don't plan on taking much with me bc I don't want to deal with baggage claim yada yada and since I'm really not going to "vacation" and will prob be in hospital gown most the time I figured I would take only 2 outfits other than the one I arrive in. Ideas of things anyone needed and wish they would have brought?

    Crossing The Border!

    Getting sleeved on the 20th by dr verboonen at obesity goodbye center (wow,I like the sound of that) , so u guys will have to tell me how things went and what to look forward to. I'm so anxious! I start my liquid diet Monday, just went out tonight and picked up some protein shakes to get started with. I'm gonna try to go ahead and start slowing it down over the weekend so I don't go into complete shock, lol. My problem has never been eating at work, half the time I don't eat breakfast and lunch which may hurt me even worse but I pig out when I get home, while cooking I snack heavily and then eat a full meal and go find a place to lay down. I can't wait to have the energy to exercise or be active with my kids. I'm pooped by the time I get home and I get irritable if I know I have to keep going when I get off work. I have a 10 day liquid diet so if anyone has any creative ways to make it through. I don't think I will have a problem but then again you never know until you get into it. Just not sure what to expect. Do you get sick or nauseated, what about headaches from not eating or hunger pains? Just curious, not complaining or whining by I am ready to do this, just want to be prepared.

    Crossing The Border!

    Well thats a relief, just so upset that we spent over $200ea for a passport we may not even need and all the stress and crying over it. I'm not going to stress over it anymore, if we get it in time great, if not, we will drive an hour to pick up another certified birth certificate the day before and just take as much paperwork as we can.

    Crossing The Border!

    Really frustrated, my sister and I have spent days worrying about whether our passport was going to come back in time for our surgery on Sept 20th. We finally called today and paid an additional 182 each to upgrade to the passport book (after paying $55 for the passport card when we originally applied) just so we could get the darn thing expedited and they say they cannot even guarantee that we will get it by the 19th even with expediting it. They refuse to give you any type of hope whatsoever and they must teach a class in how to give vague answers because out of the 12-15ppl I have talked to at this point have all given vague answers and none of them are the same. Then I jump on here and it seems that most ppl have not had any troubles crossing back over without the passport. Grrr, the government! The only other thing that really gets me is they now have my original birthcertificate which we had to drive over an hour to pick up before we could even apply for the passport so now I don't even have that either! Really frustrated but hope everything works out. Anybody else recently go without a passport? Crossing over from San Diego to Tijuana?
