    Flying after surgery

I flew about a month and half after surgery and was fine. I got a 11 hour tattoo 5 days after surgery. so I am sure a two hour flight will be fine. lol
  5. The first 3-4 weeks after surgery was hell for me since I didnt have a pre op diet. So I was detoxing from breads, sugar, caffine, etc. I have to say I wasnt the best person to be around.
  6. I am 8 months out and at the moment I am eatings a grilled chicken flat bread from Wendy's. I also do chicken wraps when eating out. But I only can finish half befor full. Havent tried regular bread.

Another reason to get the sleeve

At my heaviest I couldnt do a lot of things. It really does suck. I missed out on a lot of thing do to my weight. I couldnt fit in booth seating, roller coasters, airplane seating with out a extra belt and taking up room in another seat, etc. I would stay home and do nothing. That lead to eating more and gaining more. You can do it. I am 8 months out now and loving it. My sides dont rub the arms of chairs any more and I can fit into everything listed above.

    Liquids day 1 sucks

I give respect to any and all that do a pre surgery liquid diet. I was one of the lucky ones that didnt have to do one. Hang in there.
  9. Just my $0.02, but you asked for advice to help lose weight. If you want to lose, you can't have a "little treat" every day. It doesn't work that way. At least switch to decaf and a sugar free and fat free creamer. Caffeine stimulates your appetite and dehydrates you. Also, 100 - 200 g of protein is pretty high. It isn't like you are running marathons weekly. I suspect you are way over your calories for weight loss. The best thing you could do is go back to your nutritionist an d get back on the wagon with a set number of calories, grams of protein, carbs, and fats and track it. Good luck to you. Remember, the sleeve is a tool. You still need to follow the rules and keep discipline for success. I wouldn't say 100-200g is high since my nut told me to aim for 130g when working out as much as I am. But how the hell you getting anywhere near 200g? I strugle for 100 most days and to get 130 I am doing two Protein drinks and two Protein Bars and two meals. Even then I some times fall short.

    Negative comments...

I had a few negative comments and still get them from time to time. But I am very open about my surgery. There are 2 people at my work getting it done now. I fine the people who are the most negative are the people that are over weight. Your life, your decisions!
  11. Wont ditch the coffee. Its a must for me. I dont drink anything else but Water or a Protein shake in the day. I also dont eat sweets or eat out. So its my one little treat. 3-5 cups a day isn't a treat lol
  12. I would just take off a week. any more and you might start to lose what you been working for (take a step back). How much Protein you getting in everyday? I lift 3 times a week and run 3 times a week with one rest day (Sunday because of football). I get in about 100-130 grams of protein a day. I aim for 130 during lifting days. I also just started creatine today to get more of a boost in my work outs. I do a Protein Drink when I wake (8-9am)up and another one as so as I get home from the gym. Then a Protein Bar for lunch around 12-1pm. Then off to work and I eat chicken/turkey/etc. with veggies for my brakes at work with another protein bar around 11pm then in bed around 12-2am. Hope that helps a little. I am no expert but I know what's been and what has worked for me.

    Negative comments...

Ok she says she is always sick this could be true. But is she always sick because she is not eating the right things? Just because someone says they are doing everything right doesn't mean they are. I am not saying she is or isn't but you have a lack of information to go by. There is always risks with any surgery. In the end its your life and your choice. I made my choice and I never been happier. Also I am a French model. Bonjour!
  14. South you can either take my advice or not, but take a week off from working out. Give your body time to rest and heal. I busted my but in the gym for 3 months with little weight loss to get ready for a 5k obstacle race. I ended up cracking a rib at the race and took two weeks off of working out to heal up. in them 2 weeks I lost 15lbs and when I got back into the gym I was lifting 10-15lbs more then I was before. Let your body rest and heal up. I would still do a little cardio but not cut back a bit for a week. And don't lift at all for a week.

    Bar

I agree. New flavor comes out this week. Double Chocolate Chunk.
  17. I am not telling you to do anything but I skipped puree. I went to soft foods and chewed really well. But that isnt easy to do for everyone. I would talk to the doctor about it and see what they say.

    Honest

Well I am 8 months out and I am very open about the surgery. I am a very open person all together. I see it has if they don’t like it too bad it’s my life I did it for me not them. I find the people that have the most issue with me having surgery are people that are overweight. I feel that hiding things means you are embarrassed of said things. You made the decision to have the surgery. Only person that you need to worry about is yourself and making yourself happy. You this world you can’t make everyone happy so why try? I like when people get all puffed up over someone else’s opinions and choices in their lives. Do you and be yourself. If people don’t like it screw them. I am to the point now that people that knew me when I was 360lbs are saying I look sick. I am far from sick but they still have my old self pictured in their heads. I still have more weight to loose since I am only down to 220lbs but I feel great. Hang in there don’t let the haters get to you.

    SMOOTHIE KING GLADIATORS

I have tried their smoothies when I was about 3 months out and wasn't a fan. Going to give them another try when I get up around that way again.
  22. All forums are going to have some sort of drama, trolls, etc. I suggest if you don't feel this site is the place for you then look into a local support group at your hospital or a local community group. My hospital has support groups once a month and also has a private facebook group. I say give this site another try. It isn't as bad as it seems from this one thread. Yes sometimes people opinions and views boil over and make things look bad but they are really not. I am sorry if my opinions or views are one of the reasons for you turning away from the site.
  23. Well I agree that I am not in the chat room all the time or on the forums so I don't know what is talked about when I am not in there. I can say that last night is the first time I seen laura-ven's name brought up in the chat room and thats because I brought it up because of the post she made on this thread calling us a gang. There were a few comments after the fact from a few people saying they find her annoying because she posts on everything in the forum and is one of the reasons they don't post in the forum. But thats them and their opinion. If she has been brought up any other time I can't say she has been or has not. The chat room is for everyone to use. But you cant force people to not talk about what they want to talk about if you don't like the topic at hand. Many people come to that chat room with different personalities. We see a lot of new people that join the forums that come right to the chat room for fast answers and they are helped but I see no one bringing that up when they are watching the chat room. I myself refer people to post and topics almost everyday and answer all their questions. Again you can't force people to talk about or change their opinion because you don't like it.
  24. Laura-ven has never been brought up in the chat room while I been on till last night. She was also in the chat room. She also answered a question from someone in the chat room. Along the lines of people talking about other in the chat room is pretty much un true. Do we talk about some posts on the forum? Yes we do. my opinion and others opinions will not always see eye to eye. Like Joe said above if you don't like my opinion or opinions of others skip them and move on. The people that want to argue about the opinion of someone else are the ones causing the issue. I posted my opinion and that was it. I didn't come back and post till I started feeling attacked because of my opinion. When I respond to the people attacking my opinion I did not attack the person but tried to explain my reasoning of my opinion. We are all adults with our own opinions and outlook on different things. Just because you don't agree with what people say doesn't mean they are attacking you. I am blunt and very honest and open person. I don't tiptoe around peoples feelings. If they post a question I will answer it how I see it. Some people might find my answer rude or take it as I am attacking someone but I am not. That is your opinion about my post. Thats like me saying you are attacking me because you bought a red car and I hate red cars. Yes do agree that a few posts were worse than others but thats my opinion. You don't see me going crazy about it. Again my opinion. you don't need to agree with it and thats fine. But that isn't going to stop people for voicing their opinion.
