  1. Surgery 9/4 day of surgery weight 240 Current weight 164 Total loss - 76 lbs
  2. Two of my bridesmaids had to do this as well and they totally honored it...
  3. Sounds like you're ordering from David's bridal, if so they will take the dress back if you're smaller than 2 sizes or larger than 2 siZes and order you another-- just check your dress about 2 months before the wedding and make the call. I got married Saturday-- my wedding gown was a 22 originally and the new one was a 14 (sleeved in September) I could have worn a 12 by the time the wedding hit though... Everyone is different though...
  4. All of the amazing the pics here inspired me to have my surgery so I figured I would also include mine... I haven't looked at myself in a side by side pic yet and I must say even I was shocked (in a good way!) Stats: Pre surgery weight: 240 (the morning of) Size: 18/20 Height: 5'-2 Current weight: 188 Current size: 13/14 Total lost since surgery: 52 lbs (no pre-surgery diet, I was 240 lbs the day I went back for surgery)

Honestly, everyone is different but I can tell you I was at 50 lbs right around 3 months. It all depends on your body I think... I've been told I was a "fast loser" although some people have lost more than that by then and some lose more a time passes by! So I guess I should say there I no such thing as "normal" loss

    Work Rumors..... Ahhhhh

I have only told few people in my life about my surgery, I've thought about coming out and telling everyone, but to me it's really no ones business. People ask about my diet and I tell them, just like the previous poster, that I'm doing high protein, low carb with smaller portions (which is true). Mostly anyone I'm remotely close to knows what I'm doing so it's not a secret to close friends and family, but anyone outside of that doesn't get to know my personal business unless its someone also struggling and trying to figure out what I did, etc. I'm all about helping people. I too find it a little odd that they jumped to weight loss surgery, I took a week off and no one said a word, even when I started losing the weight..

    I really need help/orientation

Man oh man, this surgery changed my life and all that jazz, BUT as someone that voluntarily had it - wanted it even - I still miss food and having a normal life. My family focused on my weight as well (they are all slim/fit - my mom weighing in at a whopping 120 lbs) anyway, what I'm trying to say is I understand where you're coming from BUT! I wouldn't do this unless you were 100%! There is no going back and not only is this surgery physically challenging, but mentally as well and you really need to be in a good frame of mind to handle this... I beg you to reconsider, at least until you want this for yourself... Honestly, you don't even look big in your picture! I hope you get the results that you want out of this, whatever they may be

THANKS LADIES!!! Thank you! No, I haven't lost much of them though I definitely have lost some! My corset/bra for under the gown before was a 42 DD and is now a 38 D. So not a whole ton of them gone but I have likely gone down a cup size, and you can kindof tell physically, but it's not a huge deal

    3 Months-Pics!

Soooo I have an awesome update for you guys! My wedding is a little over a month away and I had to get a new wedding dress yesterday! I'm 4.5 months post op now and my new dress is a size 14 (I fit the 12 but didn't like the dress that was a 12!) and since I don't have time to order it was better to just take the corseted 14. So my previous dress was a 22!!!!!! Holy cow! I'm STOKED! (Please ignore the weird tan, that was the ending of a horrible spray tan HA!)

I think my nightmare has come true.....

Hey ma'am, I hit a horrible stall at about that time then woke up one day 4 lbs lighter... It will start moving, promise! Just keep your head up
  14. shuhnaynuh

    completely disgusted....

Unfortunately I feel like some of us have unreal expectations of the sleeve (even me sometimes!), it's a tool-- not a miracle worker. Sure your weight moved up 4 lbs more than it was when you checked the scale yesterday... But isn't that still tons of lbs less than when you started? You should be proud of how far you've come so far!! I know it's hard, sometimes I feel like I see the same number on the scale for weeks at a time. I don't, it's just my brain in "I have the sleeve, I should be losing!" Mode. I have to remind myself to be grateful for any loss because the way I was going pre-sleeve was nothing but gain gain gain! So embrace your weight loss and lock that scale up!! You'll be surprised when you visit your dr and have much more loss than you thought you got this!

    Losing breast weight

Haven't lost much of mine at all, down 60 lbs and was wearing a bra extender- the only thing that has changed is i no longer have to... 38 DD still here.

    New

I'm not a teen anymore but I'm not far off-- 25! I'll be 4 months out as of January 4. I am the person that passes out over a cut so I can definitely understand being scared Pre-surgery! I boohoo'd all the way into the operating room! Recovery in the beginning isn't easy, BUT here I am almost 4 months out and 60 lbs down and happy happy happy that I made the decision! Good luck to all of you and if I can answer any questions for you I will definitely try!

    No milk?

Okay so I'm definitely not lactose intolerant because I can have yogurt and ice cream, BUT milk makes me feel horrible.. What gives??? I was a huge milk lover Pre surgery and now I've tried it twice since surgery and can't stand it, nor can I stand almond or soy any ideas or suggestions?
