    Loving All The "cupcake" Recipes!

They are good reheated, I think. I usually make them on a Sunday, a breakfast batch and a lunch batch, and then take them to work for the week. I like the lasagna cupcakes the best so far. And, the hashbrown, egg and sausage ones too. You can get the recipes at Emilybites.com I haven't tried them all yet, but eventually I am sure I'll try most.

Two Years Since I Joined Vst

Congratulations on your journey, and thanx for sharing your story. I also started at my highest weight of 249 lbs and am 5'5", so our stats are similar. My goal is 132 lbs, and we shall see if I get there. My surgeon thinks it's a low goal but I know where I am happiest. I am 3 1/2 months post op and am now at 193 lbs, slowly but surely I'll get there. Thanx again for the inspiration and best of luck in your 'slender' future, enjoy shopping!! :-)
  7. I had a 2 night stay in the hospital. I don't have 'just' a desk job, it's running around all day so I took 4 weeks off of work. I probably could have gone back at 3 weeks, but I have plenty of vacation time saved up. Since you have a desk job I'd say that it's feasible to go back after 1 1/2 weeks as you were stating. I've seen many here who went back that soon. Best of luck in whatever decision you make.

    10 Months Post-Op

Wow, what a transformation, you look great!!! Thanx for sharing!!
  9. Yes, that article states it is a reversible procedure. The reason that my co worker had it reversed was due to major complications that lasted 5 months. By the way VSG30815 CONGRATS on your amazing transformation, you look fabulous!!
  10. The RNY IS reversible, I work with someone who just had it reversed.
  11. She said sleeve is LESS complications (in her pros and cons list)........and also the sleeve is NON reversible, RNY and the BAND ARE reversible. These to me are accurate statements.

    Quick Question...

I think those of us who don't have a lot of weight to lose, (although I had 117 lbs to lose, which to me is alot) tend to lose it a bit slower. When I see the 20 or more lbs a month for months lost by some I look at their starting weight and it is much higher. I try to remember that as I am around 10 lbs a month since my 1st month. I am hoping it stays around 8-10 lbs a month but who knows. You started lower than me so that is what I think when I see your weight loss. You're doing great in my eyes!!!

    Feel Like Giving Up

Try to up your caloric intake, it might help to jump start your metabolism. I slowed down in my 2nd month but started to get more calories in and it helped. Everyone has stalls and they are very frustrating, but rest assured you will continue to lose the weight, it might not be 20 lbs a month, or even 10 lbs a month, but you will lose!!

    How Much Weight Loss?

Awesome, we are the same height too!! I am sure you'll succeed in this journey with your positive attitude. We'll have to keep tabs on each other. It's nice to see others who have the same stats so we can compare if one or the other is struggling or having hurdles that they need help with. Keep up the good work!!!

    How Much Weight Loss?

Hi Judy, I agree, it's a work in progress for sure. And, never 'think' that you will regain the weight, because that is NOT an option for us. After all we've gone thru, we'll make sure we don't!! How tall are you? I'm 5'5"? Karen

    How Much Weight Loss?

I lost 10 lbs pre op .......surgery was 8-21-12.....I am 3 months post op so far. Starting weight 249 lbs, surgery weight 239 lbs 22 lbs first month post op 12 lbs 2nd month post op 10 lbs 3rd month post op Today I weigh 195lbs. Many might consider me slow, but I don't want to lose 20 lbs each month, it might leave too much saggy skin, so I think it's great where it's at, even if it stays at 8-10 lbs a month!!

    How Long After...alcohol

I was at my 3 month post op visit last Monday, and asked again when I would be able to have a drink. I rarely ever do, but wondered. Before I had surgery he had mentioned typically it's 6 months post op. After reviewing all of my blood work results and seeing that my weight loss was good, and I had no complications, he said I could now if I wanted to. I still haven't but it's good to know I may if I'd like to. Each surgeon I am sure is different, so double check with him/her.

    Gum

I've chewed gum since 4 weeks out, no problems here. My surgeon just said to wait a few weeks after surgery.

I didn't reach my Thanksgiving goal, and am now in for the Christmas challenge, so I'll join this one too!! Starting weight pre op 249 lbs Weight for surgery 239 lbs (8-21-12) Current weight 195 lbs New Year's Day goal weight 183 lbs Good luck everyone!!

    Christmas Day Challenge!

I'll try this too!! I didn't quite get my Thanksgiving goal correct, but that's ok. Starting weight: 249 lbs Surgery weight: 239 lbs (8-21-12) Current weight: 195 lbs Christmas Goal: 185 lbs
  24. For the PUREED/SOFT stage, which is how my surgeon combined them, he allowed: Fat free or 1 % cottage or ricotta cheeses, summer squash, yams or potatoes for mashing, fruits and vegetables without seeds to puree, sugar free applesauce, pureed soups, overcooked vegetables, cooked or refried Beans (fat free), baked or canned fish, soft meats (pureed, marinated, stewed), low sugar Cereal (soggy in milk), eggs (hard boiled, scrambled or poached), bananas, crockpot meals. And, yes, you will be able to eat 'normal' again. I am 3 months out and still have not eaten bread, not that I can't try it, I am just not really wanting it and why bother is how I see it. Other than that, I am just trying a little of anything to see what agrees with me and what doesn't.

    Thanksgiving Day Challenge

5 weeks ago, I joined the challenge, thinking I'd lose 15 lbs, but I lost 10 lbs. I figured due to stalling I might not make it, but it's all good. I thought I'd be at 190 lbs today but I am at 195 lbs today. It's still a loss!! Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!
