  1. Seems to me that you already knew the answer..You probably should have said the real facts about stretching you sleeve!
  2. The honeymoon period is when your losing weight with little or no problem..Following the program takes little effort partly because you are healing and getting used to your sleeve! Once you heal and a few months go by your sleeve will relax a little and then it will take some work to continue to lose weight that fast.....You will feel hunger, head hunger and cravings may return all sorts of little unexpected things will pop up... Try to keep focused on fixing your brain and the way you feel about food...If we fix our heads then the body will go along with it.....
  3. derivative...come on I meant diuretic....dah!
  4. Just during the healing stages..Caffeine is a derivative and we try to drink as much Water as we can because of the issue of hydration...don't count coffee or tea as part of your liquids for the day... I drink a cup or two of tea everyday....No problems here so far!!!!
  5. Another thing you may want to get used to is eating 3-6 times a day...small portions, but that made it much easier for me after it was all done.... You will be able to reintroduce some things back into your program later on if you so desire, but for the first few months. It will be difficult unless you are one of those....breezing through it..I hope you are I really do! A lot of the work is changing how you use food and learning what brought you to this point and also dealing with it..The food part looks after itself when the mind is mended....All the best!
  6. When they cut 85% of my stomach out I knew it would be really different..The fact that I did it in the first place is because I was never going to succeed on my own......
  7. I am really excited for you......Do take this time to detox your body from caffeine, sugar and anything that you cannot live without at this time...You have time to be successful with this..it will make the experience easier for you after surgery... Also try to eat smaller portions and leave some on your plate when you are done....It is so liberating to get past the "You eat everything on your plate young lady, children are dying in Africa from hunger". Also it is good to put your fork down after every bite and learn to chew slowly and thoroughly...These are good practices to start now and then they won't be so hard to learn afterwards. Soon you will be on the losing side of life like the rest of us...Welcome to the beginning of a whole new you...The one that really wants to be on the outside as well as the inside....Go girl go!!!!!
  8. My sister has always thrown it in my face that she is smaller then me..In fact she depends on me being bigger then her!.she has made some really hurtful comments over the years that I cannot forget....Being in the hospital for 5 months she knows I have lost some weight...I figure she is guessing a round 50 lbs. I won't be seeing her this year, but I cannot wait until she passes out when she sees me..She told me a few months ago that I should continue to try to lose weight and not let anything discourage me....She has no idea that I had WLS and I know that she thinks that she can say that because she hads no fear, because I always gained the weight back +..... I am not a mean person....But she is the one I can't wait to see.....
  9. I love seeing the successes people have with this amazing tool.....awesome! You look amazing!
  10. Don't you love those huge scales...kinda makes you feel like live stock eh...... I think your transformation is amazing....Good for you kid!!!!!!
  11. Well aren't you special...I tried it 11 months out almost a year and it still hates me..Fine, coffee drinkers I will go back to drinking tea alone!!!!!!!
  12. walking....lots of walking...Give your body time to heal before you go full tilt into exercising...K
  13. Your right it's all his fault....I'm going with that...lol
  14. There are somethings that I could not eat before surgery but can now and the other way around...So my hubby thought it would be a good idea to try that.....uggggggggggg!
  15. Only the second time in 15 years I have even tried to have a cup of coffee...Last night my hubby brewed his special blend and it went down easy and smooth no problem.... SOOOOOOOO I thought mum...I'll try that again...Hubby makes coffee no different then last night and now I am so sick I can hardly stand that pain in my sleeve... Sure I am going to up chuck Guess it will be another 15 years before I drink that swill again....yuk!!!!!!!!
  16. Good for you...I have a long leather coat I keep trying on and it is a large...I did up the buttons this past week..Still a little snug...But I can do up the buttons.....Take that !!!!!!!!!!!hehehehehe
  17. Me to! I have a spare tire and it frustrates me to no end...But embrace who you are and who you are becoming...She is quite lovely!! Give her a break and quit hiding behind your stance...She needs love, compassion and some good honest pride especially from you
  18. 11 months out I still throw up...Not as often but if I eat something my sleeve does not like...i throw it up....the throwing up will get less and less....but I read on here of others still having that after a fight with a food that does not suit them...At your stage though I was throwing up constantly...It does get better I promise!!!!
  19. Dehydration....Get some G2 and mix it 1/2 and 1/2 with Water and sip sip sip.....It will fix the hydration issue because that is what it is made for...To keep your electrolytes up.....You may also need acid reflux meds for now...And maybe some nausea meds too.... I needed all that stuff at first, but not now...11 months out!
  20. All the fears and moodiness and lack of sleep came for me after the surgery...i was so sure that now that it was my turn I would fail at it like all the other diets..... My hubby used to just stare at me when I lost my mind and yelled at him for no reason...So I just started saying please forgive me I lost my mind when I was sleeved...LOL I can still be difficult..I know hard to believe...but I am getting used to the idea of being successful and loving every minute of it.. I did the pre-op diet of 2 weeks liquids twice..I am sure you can handle it once....You must find the power within your head..And your body will follow..We are all here rooting you on....Go girl go!!!!!!!!!!!!
  21. Thanks..Glad I don't have your trouble with all those guys wanting you.....NOT!!! Oh well that's what happens when your an old married woman...that would make me feel good to have some of that attention even though I could not follow through.....Just kidding...well maybe not!!!!lol
  22. Well...Some Doctors are able to do the sleeve with as little as 3-5 small scars....I ended up with 12..I had 12 drains in my stomach to try to keep the leak clean..they tried everything they could to keep my sleeve...In the end I had a mix of by-pass and sleeve..I am a high bred! I kept getting abscesses and then they would have to drain that which added another scar to my already many scars...I look like someone took a Gatling gun and shot me... They are in a perfect circle!
  23. No....I am between a lg and XL in clothes...The clothes that she gave me were an XL...Everyone thinks I have hit wonderland though..but I have not weighed myself so I don't know if I am or not.....I really don't weigh myself much..I get frightened at the thought..lol
