  1. Rest rest rest. You don't need a set back. I know its tough over the holidays, but your body is still healing and needs the rest. Good Luck and Merry Christmas
  2. Happy Birthday and good luck
  3. Sally, great job. keep up the good work. Lynn, happy to have you in the group. Health is the most important part of all this so we can enjoy life to the fullest and longest possible.
  4. keldolbeth, thanks for the advise. Kadie sounds great we will be going thru it all at the same time. Good luck
  5. Yes he is very good, but it's not just him. In my opinion it's the whole set up that I like. The surgery center and everything is right there in one place. Kinda of a one stop shop. My surgery date is Sept. 24. When I met with him I was on the fence leaning more to the sleeve and he was the one that actually recommended the sleeve. They do have financing avail thru three or four different companies. Another thing I like is fact you can do the seminars and most ofthe paperwork on line.
  6. I meet with the nutrition specialist on 9/10 and get my pre-op diet plan and food then. I was hoping that someone that has been thru this recently could tell me good or bad foods. I have heard that the chicken soup is pretty good along with the jello
  7. My date is Sept. 24th. I am glad that my Dr. had a cancellation and I was able to get it. I have my NUT class on 9/10 and start my 2 week pre-op. I am excited, anxious and scared all at the same time. Anyone have advise as far as pre-op diet (good foods, bad foods)?
  8. Well I got my date yesterday. It is 9/24, just around the corner. I have my NUT class on 9/10 and start my 2 wk pre-op diet then. Any suggestions on the diet (good foods, bad foods).
  9. I was the same way, but when I met with Dr. Curry he convinced me the band was better. It has a lot less maintance. In other words you don't have to keep going back to get it filled. A LOT less likely of food getting stuck and it's a lot easier not to give up or get off track with the sleeve. If you give up with the band after a while the "fluid" leaks out and out can go back to eating too much and lose all the ground you have gained. I get my sleeve on 9/24
  10. In the two years I have had mine I have gone thru 3 different styles of masks. So don't get frustrated go back and get re-fitted with a different style. Remember this condition is deadly if not taken serious. The most famous case I can think of is Reggie White, NFL football player for the Packers died at like 46 or something from it.
  11. Glad to have you here. This is a great place to get info and ask questions. Remember what the teachers always said "there is never a dumb question" either someone else is thinking or feeling the same and won't ask or probably more likely someone in here as already been thru it. hang in there and good luck
  12. I have had CPAP for about 2 years. It does take a little getting used to, but nothing major. The biggest thing is make sure your mask is comfortable and seals well. My wife loves it..no more snoring and it makes very little noise.
  13. Whoo, Great news, way to go. Sounds and looks like you are doing wonderful. Keep up the good work
  14. the lack of sleep, lack of food, pain meds..its no wonder. Hang in there

could be "head hunger"...not really hungry, but your mind is playing tricks with ya. If you are drinking your recommended amounts and eating correctly then it is probably head hunger....Good Luck
