  7. If you are feeling hungry at night it may be acid try some tums when you wake up see if the hunger goes away. Then maybe you can go back to sleep.
  8. People Unless they have been through the up and down weight loss struggles that we have just don't understand hopefully your true friends know your character well enough to know that you have done your homework and exhausted other efforts before taking this road. It not like other elective surgeries such as breast enhancements, butt lifts, or tummy tucks for most of us we just want to be healthier and live longer for our loved ones and could not do it alone, sometimes its genetics, thyroid problems, metabolism or other thing besides sheer will power that keeps us from losing on our own. Oh well I,m getting off the soapbox now,
  9. I dont know how we are suppose to keep up with all these little tricks and rules or dos and dont's seems like anytime you find a combination that you really enjoy its wrong somehow, oh well maybe it can be an ocassional treat or you can make iced cocoa with raspberry syrup ( if that doesn't break the rules lol)
  10. I am 7 weeks post op and have come off my metformin and glimpride, and onlt take 1/2 the amount of insulin i was taking.
  11. Fat and sugar should be kept under 10g per serving and carbs should be less than 60g per day and you need at least 60g of protein per day.
  12. I had that sounds exactly same but it was gone by like week4 and hasnt come back so far im about 7wks out. i called doc when it was happening they said i had strain a muscle.
  13. You can puree anything, for quick meals try thr hormel compleat meals they pure up easily. Refried beans with ricotta cheese and salsa is good, turkey meatballs with ricotta cheese and a little ketchup or bbq sauce or marinara. you couls also use alfredo sauce. Chicken with alfredo, turkey with gravy, chicken or eggs or tuna with low fat mayo just about anything.
  14. woo hoo! can't wait to get there myself!
  15. I don't know about brand names with powders I drink Premiere shakes from sams at well I think it may come in powder. I like the taste of the RTD that i have tried. My nut says the first ingredient in any protien we use should be Whey Isolate, if that helps any.
  16. Thanks so much for the opinions and compliments also the advice I don't measure but im gonna start.
  17. Not losing the weight or being able to follow a sensible diet were definite fears but also what if something goes wrong during surgery? what if i alter or risk my life and put my family in financial and emotional or even physical distress ?
  18. Do what you feel is right for you and what your doc and nut has advised and take the advice of others with a grain of salt most mean well but just don't know or understand our struggles.
  19. I know it seems like your date will never get here but it will just hang in there. It took me about 9 months from seminar to Surgery.
  20. Thanks so much for the unbias opinion.
  21. Does this look like 71lbs lost ? friends and family say they can tell i've lost but of course they are gonna say that, i think maybe you can tell a little but not enough for 71lbs. These pics are exactly a year apart.
  22. Definetly call your Doc for advise and maybe your nutritionist.
  23. Have you tried the cream soups and how about using broth instead of water or skim milk like cream of mushroom with beef broth etc.
