It just hits home in all the bad ways. I heard the news while recovering in the hosp. I don't usually cry for strangers, but I cried for him. Just so sad.

    I just farted.

It's the simple things, ain't it?! Lol. About 5 hours after I got home from the hospital yesterday, I avoided a shart and had a bowel movement. I announced it to the house.

I keep hearing this. Apparently my surgeon was pretty darn good. Thank goodness. Thanks everyone
  9. I'm 3 days out..almost 4... and everytime I take a sip of water, I feel it travel down and then culminate into a rather painful gurgle. I am beginning to hate drinking!!!! Is this normal? The gas is is still very much in my system, so it wouldn't shock me to learn if this was normal, but I'm slightly paranoid after having had such a difficult hospital stay. Thanks everyone.

  13. Ok ladies and gents. This is my first post-op question. I had surgery on Thursday. I'm burping a little bit, but haven't passed any gas the other end. No farts!!! I'm really looking forward to it, as the cramping can be a bit much at times, but nothing so far. I'm walking a lot and doing really well with water. When can I expect relief? Thanks!!!

    2 days post op

I'm feeling tons better. I want to assure people that it does get better. I ended up being allergic to dilaudid, a pain med, that required a high dose of IV Benadryl. This was given right before my leak test, which caused an inability to burp as I was so sedated. The nausea and vomiting was horrific. The next days has was terrible. Today, with new pain meds and an ability to burp, I feel so much better. Able to focus on walking and passing the gas, rather than pain and discomfort. Everytime told me it would get better every day. And it's so true.
  15. It's been so hard. I'll post why when I am able. In the meantime please pray for me a prayer of healing and no pain. Please. Thank you all. Amy
