  1. I'm a 8/21 sleever. My past my shoulder thick hair got thin and icky at about 3 months. I went online and found a layered cute bob cut. Do a search for hairstyles for the shape of your face. My hair is now getting thick again and the look isn't quite as cute w thick hair. Lol. I'd say find a cute cut, and have your hairdresser just cut it. The layers covered up my bald spots. And highlights also help. Good luck!
  2. I love hearing about all these stalls from our August peeps!! That means mine has to break soon!!
  3. How bad are your knees? Is it one or both? And how far apart are you planning on getting the VSG/TKR done? I had my knees done in my 40's. (i'm 51 now.) They were totally destroyed from Rheumatoid Arthritis and I walked like a penguin. I had no choice. It was bone on bone w/ bone particles chipping off. If you are that bad, I'd say TKR first. It's harder to get in exercise to help your weight loss. Judy
  4. That's just awesome. If we could all find a mate like you two have.... Congrats!
  5. Congrats to all!! I'm still stalled at 198.
  6. Awww,,,, <blush>...... Thanks for the compliments! Instant gratification is wonderful, but I've learned through many yo-yo diets that it might be gratifying, but it's never long lasting. :-)
  7. Stretch marks are ripped skin. (I'm sure someone can be more scientific, but basically that's what it is.). You can get creams that lighten the skin, but nothing reverses the damage.
  8. Lol!! What a fun way to lose weight w each other. So...what's the grand prize?
  9. I'm almost 5 months out. On monday i took a Zumba class in the Water. Think 'lots of bouncing!' . Next day my belly hurt where the big incision was. My doc said that it can take many months for those muscles to totally heal. Someone also mentioned that we could develop lesions (scar tissue) and that's not good. Pay attention to where the pain is and maybe call your doc? I'm sorry you are having a hard time. I've decided that this surgery is like a marriage. Exciting at first, then as time passes by we have our peaks and valleys. I hope you find a way to turn things around.
  10. Everyone's responses here are great. Well...except throwing Water bottles at boys....???? But seriously, what I had to do it to look at this as a job. This is seriously a LOT of work. I thought I had it figured out at 5 months out, but a few days ago I realized that I had slacked off and was grabbing Protein bars to fill me up because i was too lazy to cook or even eat, healthy fresh foods. So while eventually we should be able to live this way by habit, for now, it needs to be taken as seriously as your job. Good luck! I know its not easy!! Judy
  11. Are you pre-soaking the chia seeds? Even w that, the way they work is to soak up liquid from your body. So my suggestion is to up your fluid intake when you have your seeds.
  12. I can honestly say that I eat more now than I did pre-sleeve. I'd eat sporadically (lazy eater) and empty calories. I have 5 severe (Type 2) auto-immune diseases. My body was basically in self-destruct mode. Last month (4 months postop) my blood work showed that I am in remission. Even the docs are scratching their heads and unable to figure out why. So, with my story and all the others on here, i hope you tell your 'friends' to butt out. Good luck! Judy
  13. Nice!!!! Now,....let's see that winning hairy chest!
  14. Everyone is doing so great! Yah!! I'm just sitting here in a stall. It'll break eventually. :-) Iggy, you can come and chase my doxies anytime. It's great exercise!!
  15. This is neat! Thanks!! I joined and hope for 10 pounds even though I'm in a stall. I do want to join the St Patty's one, but not yet. I want to see what happens in Feb first. Thanks! HW: 254 CW: 198 GW: 150 Surgery 8/21/12

Best book: 'The Count of Monti Cristo.' Best revenge story ever.
  17. Thanks!! Very helpful!
  18. They don't last. :-(
  19. Can anyone recommend a good brand? I've decided that Water aerobics is 'my' thing so I'm ready to invest in the gear. Prices on pool shoes range from $9.99 (no thanks) to $120. Any suggestions? Thanks!! Judy
  20. I know that this brand is the brunt of many jokes, but WLS for Dummies is pretty good.
  21. Thanks, Dana!! Waiting for yours! :-) -Judy
