  1. I LOVE my hot chocolate!! That helped me a lot when i was first pre-op and getting dehydrated. And a dash of whipped cream tops it off!! I use Nestle's fat free. It's in a canister. It does have a bit more sugar, but I use Water instead of milk so the carb total is low. And to me, this one tastes the best. For ME, if i'm going to indulge in something now (and for the rest of my life) I am going high quality.
  2. Silcia from bamboo supplements? Where can i find that? Thanks!! Judy
  3. Just remember: this is a marathon, not a sprint. I started to get impatient until i figured out why. All other diets I was in a hurry bcs I was afraid i'd give up, lose my motivation, before I'd lose all the weight. And i usually did. I haven't gotten that feeling w the sleeve. I am taking advantage of this time to learn to eat and love myself again. And at 51, I have a LOT of years to make it up!
  4. Yep! I sure have been. From what I understand, biotin helps w regrowth, not hair loss. And I only was lacking Protein for 5 days post op. So, I did everything right!! Doxies are so unique. Wire hairs are usually totally clowns! I prefer the LH's 'mostly' mellower personalities.
  5. hair loss can be from anesthesia, mal-nourishment, and/or trauma to the body. Nutrients are used for major organ functions first so the hair suffers. I'm already planning to get a wig. Try to embrace this. If you are really worried, get a wig now and start wearing it once in awhile. Then when you really need it, people won't be so shocked. I'm thinking of getting my hair cut short and going wavy/curly. I figure that way the bald spots won't show as much.
  6. Most of you figured out I have dogs. Long hair dachshunds to be exact. 3 reds, 2 blondes. Here's the latest pic of the blondes: Well, having dogs means shedding. Usually only 2x a year. Fall is one of those times, so they are shedding. I am also a blonde. And at almost 3 months post-op, i have now joined my dogs in shedding. Woozers!! What a mess!!! I go see my hairdressers next fri and I'm def going to cut it short. Question is, who will stop shedding first? Me or the dogs??
  7. I swallowed my gummy Vitamin whole this afternoon. By mistake. I forgot it was a chew and took it like a pill. My tummy is NOT happy. Having some warm hot choc to hopefully help melt it. Lettuce, raw veggies and Water are still upsetting my tummy. Will I ever be able to drink water again? Thanks, Judy
  8. Oh wow. I really wasn't going to post on here. Was just mildly amused. Now i'm not so amused. Iggychic said exactly what I've been thinking. DO YOUR RESEARCH! No where ever have I read that people stop losing at 6 months, can live off their own fat, and can live on just Water for months. That wld throw a system into starvation mode so quickly. I call BS on this post.
  9. I agree with Fiddleman....after awhile we just get used to the stalls. It's all part of the process.
  10. Ambien does that to me!! Crazy colorful dreams!! They tried to give me some in the hospital bcs i wasnt sleeping and I said 'no thanks!' :-)
  11. You look so much younger!! Check out those dimples!!! Congrats!
  12. 4/24/12 first appointment: 250 8/21 surgery: 227 11/03: 205 (Can't figure out how to post pixs from my iphone.)
  13. Body fluids fluctuate. They really do. That's why it's suggested not to weigh yourself often. Once a week is plenty. As long as you are working your plan you WILL lose weight.
  14. Something that will cover my flappy arms and not make me sweat.
  15. Really Pip? I want to hear a report from you if it's really worth it. :-)
