    Stall 7 weeks out

This seems to be normal. I stalled for over a week at 6 weeks out and then "bam" I dropped 5 lbs in 2 days. It seems to be a common occurrence. I'm 8 weeks out tomorrow.

    Paleo after surgery?

I've been doing a lot of reading on the Paleo lifestyle, cookbooks and blogs and what hollirrose just stated my plan is to follow a low carb, high protein diet. Paleo is all about the protein and the carbs are from vegetables, berries and nuts. I love cheese though, but I'm incorporating almond milk in my diet and limiting my cheese intake. Even my surgeon in his guidelines would like his patients to stop drinking milk, but he is okay with Greek yogurt because of the high protein and good flora for the gut. My surgeon said that people do better weight loss wise after bariatric surgery with a high protein diet, so I'm going to follow his advice.

  6. You aren't the only one. I'm 4 1/2 weeks post-op and cannot eat an egg, no matter the form. Scrambled, soft boiled and mushed, pureed egg salad...tried them three different ways. I was sick like a dog yesterday, trying it for the third time. I think I'm going to wait until I'm further out before trying again.

5 Weeks out and just threw up my eggs. :-(

I attempted to try eggs again today and they came right back. I think I'm done with them for awhile. I loved eggs pre-op but now, my sleeve can't take them.

    Post op march sleevers

Sleeved on the 7th. The gas pain was the ultimate bi...but now I'm doing better. I get gas when I drink to quickly and the right side where he removed the excess stomach still hurts. My surgeon only wants me to focus on getting my fluids in and then protein shakes start on Friday. Trying to keep up with my fluids and vitamins head hunger does appear throughout the day. My family had pizza last night but the smell made me nauseous.

    Anyone Here In Washington?

I'm having surgery on 3/7/2013 at Evergreen with Dr. Srikanth. Very excited and very nervous too! I am trying not to worry to much about the procedure. I know that I'm in very good hands. I have had a long time to think about it and come to terms during the pre-op process, but it still makes me nervous.

    Paleo after surgery?

I was wondering if there are any paleo sleevers out there? Paleo is very low carbohydrate and high protein. I got a couple of cookbooks and crockpot recipes. I thinking more of getting my family to eat this way so in the long run I wont be making separate meals.

    Sleeve or band

When I went to my pre-op education class, there were 7 of us and 3 were having their bands removed and were either revising to VSG or RNY. I know 4 people who had/have the band. One had to have it removed, one has had hers in for years (10) but continues to yo-yo diet, and the other two lost maybe 30lbs and were not able to lose more. I had considered the band, but once I researched and talked to my surgeon, he is taking more bands out then putting them in.

    Any March Sleevers?

Got a date today. It will be March 7th.
  15. I just called my insurance and was told I was approved today. Yes! I had to tell someone. It has been a long process, with the 6 month visits and all the pre-op testing. Now, I just have to wait and hear from my surgeon's office to set up a pre-op visit and a surgery date. I called the patient coordinator right after I found out that she should be hearing from my insurance today or early tomorrow, but she hasn't received anything as of yet from them. So excited! It took 1 week to get the insurance approval, after it was submitted. However, it has been a year of getting my head wrapped around the process and actually starting the ball rolling. I look forward to being on the loser's bench.
