  1. WOW' date=' you look GREAT!! Did you have any plastics after loosing all your weight? How tall are you? I hope to loose like you!! Got a long way to go, but if i can get down to 150lbs, i would be over the MOON!!! Congrats!![/quote']

No plastics, I refuse. I'm 5'5, and thank you!

  2. Thanks for the response!! I've been feeling a little discouraged. I have an urge to feel normal. My husbands deployed right now and It often makes me sad to think that I might not be able to enjoy dinner with him. Down 24 lbs already but I'm just so anxious.

You will it just takes time. I just started to enjoy meal time with family again about 2 months ago. I can't eat as much but I still feel normal.

  3. The first few months were really tough. My body hated everything I ate so I was basically consuming nothing but liquids. I had am esophageal dilation in December and I've been great ever since. The only thing I can't tolerate is french fries, they pain me so bad I cry. I also can't eat a lot of bread. I've been at this weight for a little over a month. I'd like to lose more but I'm lacking the focus I need right now. I eat a lot of Protein and salad, I enjoy junk every now and then but not like I used to. Excessive amounts of sugar make me sick to no end.

  4. I've gotten a lot of inquiries about what my before picture looks like so I figured I'd share. I am officially 46 weeks post-op.

  5. I think the more weight I lose the more I am comfortable with looking in the mirror. At my heaviest' date=' I barely even glanced at mirrors, avoided cameras, and just wasn't comfortable at looking at myself.

I think part of the problem is we actually look at ourselves more when we are thinner and the longer we look...the more we notice the little things that aren't perfect.[/quote']

    I complety agree

  6. Karissa I too was the way you were and then realized I was wrong. After 20 years of feeling and looking like **** it was hard to accept wow i look good. So now I take pride in my looks and you will get used to it. I lost 180 pounds in three years and be honest doesn't it feel good to shop in NORMAL size clothing departments and not the fat and dorky aka big and tall. That right there should be your first positive now build onto it and show off that new found body

I'm finding it extremely hard to adjust. Sadly I'm criticizing myself more now than I was when I was heavy. It's disheartening. I shouldn't feel like this because I'm in a size 10 pant, and a medium/large shirt, yet I still feel chunky. Ugh :/

  7. I'm finding it really hard. Next month on the 30th I will be one year post-op. I have lost 130lbs and currently weigh 156. People tell me I'm so thin and that I look great, but I look in the mirror and still feel heavy. I don't think I look good in anything I put on and it frustrates me to no end when I'm trying to find an outfit for the day. I end up throwing half of my closet on the floor by the time I'm done. I don't know if it's psychological or if it's normal for someone to go through this after huge weight loss, but I'm worried and feel alone. I'm calling a psychiatrist tomorrow so that I can try to figure out what the problem is, but I wanted to know if anyone else has experienced this.

  8. So I've lost 126lbs. I'm happy with my body shape but I still have leftover fat on my lower back, inner thighs, and lower belly, like below my belly button. The scale isn't budging even though I'm a gym junkie, what can I do to get back in fat burning mode? Should I go back to Protein Shakes? I'm stuck, and I'd like to get rid of at least 10 to 15 more pounds. Help!

  9. Ok' date=' I thought all of us, at least everyone that is overweight, has a 'fatty' liver and they have to move it to get to our tummy, and it's easier with a "lean, mean" liver!!! LoL Did I misunderstand??!!![/quote']

Not all of us have one. I didn't, I was overweight but they said my liver was healthy looking when they went in.

  10. Totally unrelated to the sleeve or surgery at all, but I don't have many men to ask their opinion on this subject. It's relationship related. If any male willing to give me their input would message me I'd greatly appreciate it!

  11. I can tell you a little bit of why you experience the symptoms you described based on what I have read in the past. I take zero responsibility for its accuracy. :)

Pre sleeve much of the sugar' date=' or fat for that matter, is churned with gastric juices in the stomach, essentially neutralizing it for better nutritional processing in the intestines. It is also a controlled release. The stomach churns food about 3 times a minute until the food is ready to be released into the intestines.

Post op, the stomach no longer is able to perform this preprocessing step of churning (as 75% is cut out), and as a consequence, a lot of sugar or fat is dumped directly into the intestines. The intestines are not prepared to handle the blast of sugar or fat and causes reactions around the body such as sweating, increased heart rate, GI tract spasms, etc. It is your body having an adverse reaction to the sugar. Not fatal, but uncomfortable for sure. Some may say this is dumping for us sleevers.

That is my bro-science response and I do not know if it is 100% accurate. Use your own judgement.[/quote']

That makes a lot of sense, thank you for your answer

  12. I totally get why a bypass patient would get so sick from sugar but why us too? I mean we just had our stomachs down-sized as opposed to complety blocked off. I had a bite of cheesecake at my jewelry party lastnight and it made me so incredibly nauseous and sweaty. NEVER again.

  13. It's been a month since I've lost anything. I've been stuck at 167 for what seems forever. I want to lose another 15-20lbs. I just started Protein Shakes again but I eat a lot of Protein. I eat chicken a lot and snack on polly-o mozzarella sticks to bump up my protein a little more. I'm also a big salad fan, especially with chicken in it. I don't know what else to do. I'd switch to strictly Water for drinks if I could handle it but my new tummy hates it. I'm 8 almost 9 months out now btw. Advice?

  14. I'm having this problem too! It started a few weeks ago and when I drink straight Water (slowly and sips) it makes me nauseous and I feel my stomach spasm and I start gagging. Oh that saliva that comes when you think you're going to throw up (but don't) is horrid. It's easier if I drink Water with something mixed in be it crystal light or peppermint tea is my daily drink.

And yeah my BMs have been painful. I feel like I'm passing a rock and I worry I will get a hemorrhoids if I keep this up (sorry for the tmi). Oh the ugly side of WLS

You sound exactly like me. Fortunately the fiber gummies are working and I'm going daily, and it isn't hard anymore.
