My doctor said they will give me a card which states that I have had bariatric surgery and requests that I be allowed to order from the child's menu. Like everyone said, there aren't always many good choices on that menu...

How soon after surgery should it be started?

I have the exact same problem at least once a day. I told my hubby "when I gotta' go I gotta' go." Get the heck out of the way!

I also had a hernia repair and ended up staying 3 nights instead of the 2 nights planned. I thought it was odd because the endoscopy did not mention a hernia.

I was sleeved on the 10th. I spent 3 nights in the hospital, it was supposed to be 2 nights but they kept me because I ended up needing blood. The hospital stay was hard for me, I was uncomfortable but not miserable and hated the loss of control. I have not needed anything for pain or nasua after the first 24 hours. I am feeling a little bit better each day. It still hurts for a brief few seconds to stand up and sit down. I still have a lot of swelling. I am looking forward to going back to work tomorrow because I am going stir crazy. I weighed myself this morning for the first time and weigh 3 pounds more than I did the morning of surgery. Trying not to be discouraged about that.

I feel the same way...am 6 days post surgery. I am still on liquids and the worst is taking my meds. iT feels like a full time job to get them all down, I can't imagine what I will do when I go back to work on Monday.

My surgery was 9/10 and I am still slowly passing gas a little bit each day.

Newgrandmother...glad to hear you are OK, although it sounds like a rough experience. I think we were sleeved the same day (9/10) and I am feeling a tiny better each day but knw that there can still be some complications. Hopefully being at home and getting a good nights sleep will be a big step. Keep us posted!

Same day, same results. I feel a little bit better every day, but have "hunger" pains and it hurts getting up and down and turning in bed. The pain is brief and tolerable and everything else seems OK. Good luck, I will be following you.

4 days out and i am feeling a lot of (what seems like) hunger pains, so it is good to hear the reasons. i am not eating but feel like i could if i wasn't scared of the consequences.

Good luck! I seriously doubt that you gained 4 pounds from eating those few things. It could be water retention from the salty soup.

I am the same size as you, my doctor requires a hybrid diet. Daily, I can have 2 Protein shakes, 2 servings skim milk, 1 serving of fruit, 1 Protein Bar and a light dinner (no carbs). It has been tough, but I know that every pound I lose before surgery is one less I have to lose after surgery. I am glad he requires this, otherwise I know I would have "pigged out" and gained weight prior to surgery. When is your surgery?

I was told I could be sent home if I "cheated" and have read that on here, but I think it is just a scare tactic. Some people don't even have a special pre-op diet. Just do your best, when is your surgery?

WOW - That sounds like something that I would do. Hope you are feeling better and are able to enjoy a glass of wine again somewhere down the road.
