    Gallbladder!

I was not put on preventative meds and had to have my gallbladder removed 3 weeks ago. Was having massive attacks, and OMG was it painful! The surgery was pretty easy though. I am 10mo out
  3. Oh wow- interesting! Hmm maybe that's my problem is the processed stuff and sodium
  4. Hi everyone- I am nearly 9 months post op and everything has been easy peasy until recently. I had to have my gallbladder removed, then went on a cruise one week later, then my bday one week later. I haven't been horrible, but I haven't been good either. I have gained around 6 lbs. some of it is likely water, but still- need to head this off and get back on track. So wondering what you've done to sort of "jolt" your body back into loss. Other than the obvious exercise and common sense diet. What are your thoughts? Back to protein? Shakes or solids?

    STALL :(

I am 8 mo post op, and I have stalled. It is brutal! I am thinking I need to change things up. I had quit the protein shakes, but I think I am going to start them again. Trick my body. My surgeon said I could stop the shakes and just eat natural protein- but I think the issue is im not really hungry so I pick on things, some not so great! Going back to basics!
  6. I understand where you are coming from. I have made some incorrect choices recently and they are becoming frequent. However, the good thing is we recognize it now and can correct our actions! No judgements at all - sending positive vibes and prayers your way. ????
  7. SimpleJax - you look great!!!! WTG!!!! I am amidst the dreaded stall as well I was sleeved on 12/27/12 and have lost 73-76 lbs depending on the day. However, I am in a much better place than I ever was pre-surgery. I am off all my meds- great success! I was a diet coke addict, now only drink water - exceptionally will have a diet soda with water in it. I know what I need to stop- I snack and graze a lot! And it's the wrong things- popcorn, peanuts, protein bars. I recognize what i am doing (success!)- now to put the fix in motion. I am determined to be down 40 before my cruise Sept 30.

    All of my December sleevers...

Surgery date: 12/27/12 Beginning weight: 264 Today: 188 Down 76 lbs!!!!
  9. Anyone have a hard time planning meals for your family? I guess my issue is my husband and son are very active and don't have to worry about weight. They eat relatively healthy, but they do eat carbs(not a lot, just normal). I am having a hard time planning meals for them and grocery shopping since I really don't eat what they do. I just cannot seem to come up with ideas. Poor guys! Lol Just wanted to see if anyone having this same challenge

    V8

Great - thanks! It doesn't hurt or make you feel overly "full"?

    100 lbs lost!

Wow! How fabulous!!!! That's so awesome- great job
  12. I can relate, I travel for my job and was so humiliated before surgery. Now I feel normal! As for food/water- I bag some snack baggies of various things like turkey or ostrich jerky, almonds, and yes- Protein bars. I just try to find the best options for protein bars I can- I can't even eat the whole bar anyway. As the prior member stated, if you ask for the bottle they will give it to you- I usually just say I had surgery recently and need more to take my meds. OR if its a long flight just buy a big Water after security or bring and fill a large bottle after security. One big water and then 2 of the waters from the flit should get you through. Another thing that works great are these Protein shakes on the link below, just add water and shake- not the best but not bad. http://www.dietdirect.com/bariwise-instant-protein-drinks-weight-loss-bw240-wildberry.html
  13. Anyone try V8 after surgery? How did it work out? Good? Bad? Thinking a healthy alternative when not hungry and already have protein in...

    "No go" foods

I have to stay away from all things "white" - rice, Pasta, breads, potatoes. I tried a few bites of rice and that was horrible. Bread, in a tiny bite, made me slime. I guess all in all- this is a good thing because I need to stay away from those foods anyway. Potatoes though, oh those things were my infinite buddy, now I have no desire and the texture is gross to me. However, now cheese is my buddy! I am scared of this because while good for Calcium and protein- it can be fattening and "clog the pipes" if you get me. Protein Shakes, turkey, chicken (moist), fish, and crab- those are staples now.
  15. That sounds like me, lol - all of a sudden I felt like I should be on that hoarders show!
