  1. I'm so excited, now to try and get rid of about 25 lbs. before April 21st. Now sure how that's going to go but I'm trying.
  2. I can relate to the shower part! The best shower of my life was after my c-section. I expect the first shower after my bypass will be #2 on my list. Lol

    Surgery approved! April 21st date.

Thank you. I downloaded it before Christmas, I was doing really good then a few things happened to derail me. I'm trying to get back into the groove of things. Exercise is my major problem. I just can't get going with it. I've got to get it done because I don't want my surgery pushed back. Good luck to you also. My fitness pal ID is harleyamb if you want to add me. Sounds like your doing great!

Some really good surgeons in Nashville. I looked there first but didn't take my insurance. Also knoxville /UT hospital has a few good ones.

I finally called my insurance & got a hold of someone who looked up surgeons for me that were approved. Mine is 45mins-1hr away so it's not too bad. Good luck!

Love seeing what the possibilities are with the sleeve. I think that will be my choice of surgery.

    OVER 300 lbs

How tall are you ? I'm 5'6" around 370. Go the 24th for my first appointment with surgeon.
  13. I'm 5'6" & 370 so I know how you feel. My first appointment with my surgeon is the 24th. I'm excited & scared, I've been considering this for 2 yrs. Now I'm trying to decide on sleeve or bypass. I started out wanting the sleeve but now I'm going to talk it over with the Dr. & see what's best for me. Good luck with your journey, I wish I had done it when I was younger !

    1st appointment questions

Thank you everyone. I have been to a seminar but it was July 15. I've been on waiting list for first appointment, finally got the call for Oct 24. I've got my notebook out & I am writing down all your great question. Still trying to decide between the sleeve or ryn.
  15. I have my first appointment on Oct.24 (finally). What questions should I ask? Any you wish you had asked? Thanks!
  16. I'm 5'5", 370#.. Would you choose sleeve or bypass? & why? Anyone started with my numbers & had sleeve?
  17. Yes! I just really wanted to know about personal experience from people around my height/weigh so I would know the real possibility with each. Kind of my own little poll.
  18. @ Carolinagirl How much have you lost? Surgery date?
  19. I'm deciding between the sleeve & bypass. I've never wanted the lap band . I've considered the sleeve for two years, never really wanted the bypass but after going to the seminar I've been considering it. Mainly because I think he will suggest it & he talked about high bmi people needing it. I've already had my gallbladder taken years ago & sometimes food "goes right through me" (tmi) so the dumping concerns me. I plan on asking lots of questions when I get my first appointment & I've read a bunch on each. So that's why I wanted feed back from people close to my bmi/height/ weight. Kind of like a mini poll. THANK YOU ALL FOR TAKING TIME TO POST. I truly love this site. I've never told anyone my weight before. Love that I can post here & know people will help.
  20. Don't worry about those that judge you. If they are truly your friend they will support you. Good luck & congratulations on choosing this new life. :-)
  21. I don't know how to friend people.. lol. I'm on the mobile app. If you know how friend me & I'll see if I get it. Good luck & let me know how it goes.
  22. We filled out paper work & the surgeon made a presentation about the sleeve & bypass. Then opened floor for questions.
  23. Thank you so much, this decision has been a two year process.
  24. Thank you! I plan on being totally honest with my surgeon. I love carbs, I'm not really a sweets eater.
