What types of food can you enjoy down the road?

Wow 210lbs! Would love to see before &after pics. Most people I know can eat anything after a few mos. It's choosing not to that is the key. -

I'm 5'6" also. I've never been a soda drinker so that has been easy. Being from the south I love sweet tea & I'm doing good with just unsweetened most of the time. I need to work on the caffeine bur I do love it. Lol Oh & of course carbs are my downfall. I'm trying hard with that one! Thank you so much for the encouragement. I'm so excited for my surgery day to get here! My Vitamins are going good most days. I had to get some chewable one because that horse pill called Calcium was hard to get down twice a day. Going much better now. :-) -
One of my local radio stations is having a radio-a-thon for St.Judes. I challenge all of you to become a partner in hope. $20/month, let's donate that money we would have spent on junk food and save a child's life. 1-800-795-1800 I know this phone number is good for today not sure about after that or maybe you can go to St. Jude website after that. :-) Thank you.

I started at 373, I'm at 361 now & my Dr wants me to lose 20 more before my surgery on April 21st. It's nice to know what is possible with my current weight, thank you for sharing. How tall are you? I've got to get my exercise going, my Dr wants me to focus on that to try & lose the other 20lbs. -

Sleeve or Bypass? Help!
MichelleTN replied to fernanda.markus's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Take in all the advice you can from your doctors & go with what you feel comfortable with. I was set on the sleeve but after talking to my doctor & a few cases of heartburn / acid reflux I have decided on the bypass but my BMI is 59 so I feel I will have a better chance at reaching my goal with the bypass. -
Good luck !

I'm approved & scheduled for April 21st. Getting excited.

Etowah, Tn. It's between Chattanooga and knoxville. I'll have surgery in April with Dr. Rutledge in Chattanooga.

Congratulations, mine is scheduled for April 21st. I've been cutting out sugar, I love sweet tea, so I'm doing unsweetened & water. My main struggle is at night & with trying to exercise. Good luck.

Good luck, it's time to put yourself first & enjoy life. I'm starting at 373 so I know how hard it is. My surgery is April 21st. I can't wait! I've decided to love myself as much as I love my family and I want to be around to enjoy them. I'm happy your starting your journey!

Get that Gallbladder out. The stabbing pain from my gallbladder would put me in the floor. Mine was years ago but I still remember that pain.

Opinions. Sleeve vs. Bypass
MichelleTN replied to immeegosh's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I think if you ask this in the general surgery forum you will get more opinions from every side. However, in the end it's got to be what you feel most comfortable with. Pray about it, read studies, etc. I believe you will know in your gut what to do that is right for you. -
Opinions. Sleeve vs. Bypass
MichelleTN replied to immeegosh's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My surgery is April 21st. I was set on the sleeve until my appointment with surgeon. He said it was my choice but when he showed me the weight loss I could expect from the sleeve vs. Bypass I chose bypass. 50lbs difference for my body type. 5'5" 370. Plus I had acid reflux during pregnancy bad & he said it could come back with the sleeve. I don't want to go through that again. The only thing I'm going to not like about the bypass is giving up my NSAIDS for pain/ sinus headache. I've been trying to avoid them to get in the habit of taking other things. All in all the thoughts of maybe losing the extra 50 was my biggest factor. Good luck! -
