  1. I had a reaction to surgical tape after my sleeve surgery. It was hot and blistery. So, I've been taking Benadryl and antibiotics and this area is starting to slowly clear. 6 days post op now. Anyway, now I developed a rash on both arms and both legs. I had a similar rash after I had my daughter that was due to the post pregnancy hormone shift. Has anyone else had this? I know there is sometimes a hormone shift after WLS and was wondering If this might be the reason. It looks and feels the same as my post pregnancy rash.

    Post Op Rash? Hormones?

I used caladryl clear on my rash, but it wasn't on my stomach. I had blisters on my tummy shortly after surgery from the tape they used. Benadryl and air exposure worked for that. It's more difficult to know what to do when it's on the tummy. I'd call your doc. Do you still have your incisions covered? My initial problem with redness then blisters, was a reaction to the tape they covered it with. Then I tried steri strips and got the same response. I don't react if I use these on my arm or hand, but I blister on my stomach. Hope all turns out well for you.

    November 5Th Sleevers?

I've lost 17 since surgery nov 5th. 34 total with my pre op diet. I feel like its slow, but I'm doing what I'm supposed to do, so I will just have to take it as it comes. I'm down 19 inches since surgery. I measured the night before I left for Mexico. So I can't complain about that.

Are you 30 since surgery, or 30 since you started pre op diet?

    November 5Th Sleevers?

Two o the four are not healed. But I think they would have been if I could have used the steri strips.

    November 5Th Sleevers?

It's on my to do list. I guess I am over my first stall. Glad it's over! I go back and forth being way cold and feeling normal. I think it's better than sweaty. I started at the gym last week. I like the elliptical, but I noticed my drain incision really hurts after that. I think my incisions would heal better with steri strips, but any adhesive makes me blister. I thought in the hospital, maybe the tape had latex, but now I am thinking not. Cause even the non latex strips are making me blister. Yuck! How much are you down since surgery?

    November 5Th Sleevers?

I'm down 32 as of this morning. So, 16 since surgery. But I went from a tight 22 to a loose 20. Some of my 18s fit too. I feel like its slow, but all I can do is keep movin on. I am cold a lot. I was wearing my firry hat and scarf inside at work between patients! One of the docs I work with said WLS can have some affect on the thyroid, so I should have that checked out. Some days I can't get to sleep at all, and others I sleep a full 8 hours. I only see the scale move so far when I sleep 8 hours. Wish I could sleep 8 every night, but I average 4 or 5.

27 since surgery? That's great! I'm still at 29 since I started my pre op diet. Tried to advance to purée, but could only eat a couple teaspoons then I was full for hours and it was hard to get calories in. I'm going back to liquids and adding in yogurt and laughing cow cheeses. They are so good. I never knew. It's good to hear from you!

My Day Is Nov 5Th Yayyyyy!

Getting really frustrated with my slow weight loss. Down 13 lbs since Nov 5th. Have not cheated once and still not going very fast. I still have 90 lbs to lose, and I just thought it would go a lil faster.

Eat protein mix with milk for breakfast. Yogurt with protein for lunch. Made the buffalo chicken recipe fom another poster. Could only eat 1/3 at a time. Been averaging 4-600 cal per day. How about you?

    Puree Stage - Recipe/ideas

I tried the buffalo chicken recipe. I could only eat a few teaspoons before I was full, but it was really good!

    November 5Th Sleevers?

Mainly using syntrax nectar and unjury. What else is in it if its not all whey?
  18. sunshyneqtie

    Greek Yogurt

Fage 0 1 cup with 1 scoop unjury strawberry soebet protein powder. Mix. Makes 2 servings. Fage has 23g protein and unjury 21 I believe. These would taste great as a Popsicle too.
  19. Yeah! Glad you got it taken care of!
  20. Well, I thought "oh, no, the hunger monster is back!" But, then I remembered. Drink first, it wasn't thirst though. Then, I took a Prevacid. Yeah, that was it! Back to having to make myself eat because the appetite is gone again.

    I Was Starving Today!

Me too. If I was real hunger, Prevacid wouldn't make it go away.
  22. What they said. I was on antibiotics and Benadryl. Antibiotics works for cellulitis, Benadryl works for the allergy process. I had tons of blisters, but they all popped on the airplane home and are healing now. I'm sure your doc will know what to do. Just want you to know you are not alone. Keep us posted. Hope all heals quickly for you!
  23. I had a reaction to the tape. But it was withing 24 hours that it started and got really bad over the next 3 days, but I am quite allergic to latex. Did you change bandages? It maybe you have a sensitivity. Sometimes allergies start out like that. Def use a different kind of cover if u still need to cover them. I used Benadryl and it worked really well. If the redness gets worse, I'd call the surgeon again. I developed cellulitis as well. It wasn't pretty, but its not red anymore. Hope all works out well dr you.
